It is unfortunate that the link must appear on the shopping cart - not to mention a little unprofessional. Many of us work with clients and it is definitely not appropriate to have such a link appear on their website.

I'll also weigh in on this. Once the software is registered this offending advertisement should be removed. Unless you are paying me to promote your software on my server this product will not be used.

If I can't edit this away via the code (or a promised upgrade) I will be asking for a complete refund.

That is simply rude, intrusive and totally unexpected.

Yes I agree too, I was going to buy the software and when I see this I have stop buying because of that link on bottom.

So its like an "Open Source" even If you paid

That would be great if they allow us to remove and "Shopping Cart Software by CoffeeCup Software" link

I have been using all CoffeeCup products for the past 3 Years except Shopping cart software.

Common coffeeCup you can do it :):)

Just one question. It's forbidden to remove the line "Shopping Cart Software by CoffeeCup Software" in the footer?

That mean that for the moment I won't recommend the soft to others people. This is something that people have to know before buying the soft, in a free version is OK but in a payed version users should have the possibility of removing or keeping any kind of publicity. It looks like we are using a free version to earn money, absolutely non professional.

So, does that mean you remove the labels and ID's off of your home appliances etc, so when people come to visit your not giving "free" advertising for those companys? Most every car I follow has an "ad - label" on the back stating who they bought the car from? Do you take that off?
I didn't think so.
Just my two cents

We never say it is Forbidden. If you are comfortable with editing HTML and or PHP you can remove it. Our software just auto generates the link on the pages when you save your shop.

We just can't support any changes you make to the pages outside of our software.

Sorry rodgw,
I have to disagree with you on this one. I think it is pretty obvious when buying a refrigerator it should have the manufacturer's name and logo on it, the same with a car. When I purchase a car from a dealership I have them remove their ad sticker as well as those cheesy license plate frames they tend to install. I don't believe in free advertising at the expense of the customer, and in this case, without the permission of the customer.

My point is when you create a website for a customer; they more than likely expect you to be the genius that created the product. If I created a site with Dreamweaver, DHTML Menu, Logo Creator, Photoshop, and several other tools in the development of the site, it would look ridiculous if I had advertising links for every single tool I used. Absolutely unprofessional.

I don't believe if I removed a dealership sticker or license plate frame from a vehicle it would void my warranty or my ability for support. Removing the link from this product apparently is not illegal and Coffecup does not mind, however, they will not support the product if you do. NOT COOL! Although I’m am able and know where to remove the link, it’s a hassle I should not have to deal with.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
