I like the simplicity of Coffee Cup's offering but I'm afraid it's still six months to one year away from being a mature shopping cart system.

My sentiments exactly. :)

Like yourself, I have tried a multitude of shopping carts out there, but find that most of them offer no direct route from the checkout button to the payment processor. I currently use Zen Cart, for which I've had to hand code some of the process templates to get it to work more effectively.

If the pro version of Shopping Cart Creator finally offers a weight based shipping system, you could simply have a weight band of up to one ounce, assign a zero postage cost to that weight band and put a weight of less than one ounce against your digital goods. One of the items I sell, has a specialist polystyrene mailer, so I just put that item in the next weight band up to cover my extra costs. Until this cart has weight based shipping system in place, it loses a massive amount of flexibility and function.

At the moment, it's the difference between killer app and being probably the easiest to use shopping cart out there. Sort the shipping and downloads and then there's no need to look anywhere else but right now, it's a bit like having a bike without lights. If it does what you want, it's great, if not, it's a bit frustrating.

Eventually I can see me using Creator and Styler all the time but at this point in time, only if it fits the bill. Still, with free lifetime updates, why am I worried!

The concensus has so far been good that it will make it into one of the SCC Pro updates later. It won't be in the initial release, and not sure how long it will be if they for sure do add it, but it's been talked about a lot and a lot of people are wanting it so hopefully it won't be too far down the road :)

Ditto. Digital download cart. Thanks.
BTW. Great products. However, this is a needed feature for today's commerce.

Ditto for me also to a digital download function/cart.

At the moment the buyer (via PayPal) is redirected back to a specific web page which says I'll be in touch with them asap with their download instructions. I then use Website Access Manager to manually set them up so they can access the protected area where the download files are. Rather messy and when it gets busy I've been known to get flustered!

Let me also lend my voice to the choir requesting that a "digital downloads"component be added to SCCP, VERY SOON! I really like what has been done with SCCP & SCDP, but the one missing component that would make my day would be to be able to integrate digital downloads. Scott, any estimate as to how far down the road this will be? I have a shop ready to go online, but I will not be able to activate it until the digital download component in a part of the software. Until then I will continue to use Opencart. Thanks to the coffecup team for your great software, and listening to the needs of your customers!

I can't really say when digital downloads will be implemented other then it is something we also want to include as soon as we can.

So, it is 2.5 years since the last update on this. Is digital downloads going to ever be a part of this software. I just bought version 3.9 and unfortunately just assumed that it would be a component. :(
