I want to upgrade. That's why I'm asking - what is this software going to do with my server settings? I would like to believe that *somebody* knows for sure what will happen when I upgrade and if there is a risk, how to avoid losing the settings by taking a preventive measure.
Four hours to redo it all is not what I consider an acceptable risk, and since I am not as accomplished as you all, that might be twelve hours for me. And before long there will be another upgrade.
When I acquired this software suite, it was not so much just for full time web masters, ya know.
That is what I am saying... Upgrade now and if you lose your site info then you take the 4 hours or 12 or 24 to fix it.
Then you export and save your projects in a backup folder so that when you upgrade again, all you have to do is import your settings from you backup.
No one can tell you for sure that it will not erase your data. We had some in the beta where it did and some that it did not. I was one of the unlucky ones and had to set it all back up. Now, all I have to do is import my setting if it happens again. Which takes 2 minutes for me and maybe 10 for you.
