lol Everyone is confused about SEO... Even Google has the teams writing the code for the algorithms working on small bits a pieces so even the designers of the code do not know how it works...

Helen,
I think the "Google SEO Starter Guide" remains the best and most authoritative point of reference. There is a free PDF download available at Google (Google it ;) )
You may also want to take a look at this forum post for an SEO Check List:

You are all so kind! My keywords seemed OK before as I was on the first page of google usually and getting a lot of hits. I haven't altered them. It's just finding out how to re-register with google etc. I'm afraid my brain is getting addled with age. :( Today I am extremely tired and a bit stressed so perhaps had better leave things until tomorrow.

To ensure continuity in SE rankings and position in search results, it is always a good idea to submit - or re-submit - a sitemap after making changes to your site. Then log in to your Google webmaster account regularly and pay attention to any error messages, meta-tag suggestions, HTML suggestions, etc.. You will also see there how many of your submitted pages (URLs) are indexed by Google.

A check on: site:http://augustaladyllanover.coffeecup.com just now shows 94 results (URLs) for your site. You may want to look at those to see if it is an essentially complete list.

In my experience it takes 6 months to achieve a good standing and other sites of good standing linking to yours helps. I created a Universal Ink Monitor and Google did the rest.

It all depends on the competition that exists and if there is a lot then Add words helps to up your sites standing. The page title is important and the placing of key words in the statements in the page. The spiders are programmed to seek out specific details, suck up to them
