Print Simple Layout of Page from RSD...

Hey Everyone,

I guess this may be more of a feature request than a question. I have searched the forum and the RSD software and cannot see that this is possible. Is there a way to print a simple layout of each page I'm working on in RSD? Maybe a grid, with outlines around the containers, the print of the text I have entered and placeholders for the pictures? I am working on a theme that is very "picture heavy" and I like to "draw up" changes on paper. Anyone know if this is possible? Or maybe a feature for the next RSD? Thanks.

Brian

I don't think you can print the actual layout. But this might be a workaround:
Select a container,
Where it says 'Apply to class', change that to 'type'.
Scroll down to the border section and give it a border, e.g. 1px solid, choose a colour.
You can do the same with e.g. columns or other elements. Maybe give each type a different colour.
Then preview in a browser and print it from there.
Afterwards you will have to reverse the changes.

Hadn't thought about in preview :) There is a Chrome extension called Instant Wireframe that might do what is required :)

I don't use Chrome too much and hadn't heard about that extension. I downloaded and added it to Crome, and sure enough the icon placed itself up in the right corner, but when I tried it with a web page open, I was just sent back to the Google webshop - time after time. I checked the testimonials, and 99% of them were saying the extension doesn't work.

Maybe you, Jamo, could tell us how to make it work?

Thanks for the posts! I really wish that Instant WireFrame Chrome extension worked. Sounds that might have been the easiest workaround. :)

why not simply export the project, then open each page in your favourite browser and right click select print

The free (bookmark) version of Wirify works OK for me in Firefox. I haven't tested it in other browsers.
