Insight not responsing

Hi,
Completion of Insight seems to be a bit hit & miss for me. I ran it on my site and keep getting the '(Not responding)' message in the 'Processing' window.

I then ran it on a 'simpler' site and it completed OK. I ran it a second time on this site and after a while it came back with the same '(Not responding)' message.

Anyone else having the same problems?

Ya a link would be good, sounds like your server may have some latency issues. Hard to say without checking the site out though.

Hi guys,

As I said in original post though, when I check http://www.specialbreaksinsouthernfrance.co.uk, the first time everything goes fine and I get results. When I run Insight on http://www.specialbreaksinsouthernfrance.co.uk again, the program runs so far then I get the message, 'Not responding'.

I've run it several times on my own site and it ends up 'not responding' in what seems to be different places, (at least there are different messages displayed when it hangs). :/

I had no difficulties running the two sites you mentioned through WI. I have never had the program hang on any other sites either. The hanging of the program and the 'Not Responding' message may indicate some form of conflict between different programs running simultaneously. As a test, try running WI with no other programs at all being loaded.

Other things to try:
1. Re-install the program
2. Run WI as Administrator
3. Disable, at least temporarily, any virus protection utilities that may be creating a conflict.

What OS are you using?

I have run Website Insight on your sigma page and the specialbreaks page several times, it all comes out fine. Mind you, the programme can't find any sitemap in order to check more pages as a batch process. If you don't have a sitemap, you should create one, if you have one by a different name, you should rename it to 'sitemap.html' and 'sitemap.xml'.

Addition: I see you are using a lot of css and js files. Try disabling some of them, especially the js files.

I haven't tried it yet as I'm having issues with my own internet (hence my being so scarce lately as well as vacation just ended and new one coming up this weekend hehe). Anyways, if it's working for everyone else so far, it could just be your own internet that is maybe having an issue. Possibly a node is not connecting correctly between where your location and the location of the web server your site(s) are on not working properly etc. Just a possibility if it ends up working for everyone else. I too have not had the program hang anywhere on me except for 1 time and that was a server issue. Hope that helps and good luck with it. :)
