I do my sites really simple. I use the editor preview for most of the things. Sometimes i open with IE (I use FF) , Opera and Chrome.
I really don´t care about IE6 issues and others issues. Just maintain simple and clean.

Where do you get that number? I get a variety of numbers depending on where you look, but none as high as 70%.

Yea, I don't think it is 70%. I think in the latest literature I have read I have seen somewhere around 55% and Mozilla carrying 30-35%.

Although, In related news, I just read that support for CSS3 in IE8 is scarce. Very disappointed with the Microsoft folks. You think they would have learned after IE6.

Whatever the percentage is - and how do you know exactly anyway - the figure for IE is significant.

I'm disappointed too. Companies as big as Microsoft never seem to learn.

I have learned that in general 1/3 of the browser market is Mozilla, and at least half is IE. I think those are good numbers to operate under. Until Mozilla takes over the world anyways. :D

Wow -- Thought it would be easy to document this, but I just did a search and found several different, conflicting answers from seemingly reliable sources! Don't know which one to believe! :/

I do know this: IE is the one that I use only when necessary, which is pretty much just to visit Microsoft Update.

And sometimes I'll use Firefox with IE Tab 2 to do that and avoid IE entirely...

You will get different answers depending on the type of site.

If the site is a techy type site you are more likely to get FF users but if its a site that has the general Jack or Jill who uses their computer straight from the box then they will probably be using whatever IE was installed.

So when developing your site you need to know the demographic of those most likely to use it and design accordingly.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.
