This is the first time since I have been on this forum that there has been an SD update with absolutely no forum activity on it following. Was there an SD update or am I imagining things? I am deciding whether or not I am going to get it and the no activity on it here is not helping in its favor. I am also behind on the forms app so if I do get anything it will be the super pack so as to save money. I used to always get the super pack but I have been shying away from it since they reduced the S-drive from one year to six months, I did not like that. With the severe inactivity on the forum and even when there is that most of it is from guest has me having to decide on whether to stick with CC. I have been with it for like 14 yrs now. I am curious to know how many people using the software are also using the S-drive like me or are most hosting elsewhere?

It's only been a few days since the release, give it a bit more time maybe (also possibly still some holiday period for a lot of users, so maybe not so busy)

Whether you decide to get it or not surely depends on the new features that are part of the release, and whether they would be something you would use, (or even be abele to use)

I used to always get the super pack but I have been shying away from it since they reduced the S-drive from one year to six months,

Not really sure I follow that about 6 months??.

Personally I don't use SDrive for anything other than testing for clients, but now with one of the new features of Site Designer (The ability to "Preview On" a local drive XAMPP has been installed on the user’s PC. and place PHP thingies, it could be a very poweful tool for showing prospective clients a quick example, for agreement on styling/developing etc.) it maybe will make my use of SDrive a bit redundant.

Take a good read of the Release notes, make sure you understand whats happened, new features etc, work out if they are ever likely to be of use to you or not.

For instance the new "Image" element for example is pretty cool, but to be honest only if you are ever gong to use it with some pre made or custom javascript code, or a JavaScript plugin which requires access to the image id, class, etc.

The ability to add a "Mailto" thingy to your layout, again maybe a thing you would use, (given the possibility of spammy things happening), and whether your visitors will have an Email Client installed on their PC.

The ability to delete empty breakpoints, is wonderful, if like me you get carried away during the design process and hit the add breakpoint thingy by accident, (having previously selected the "Don't Show Again") warning that normally would appear, but then again DON"T EVER select that DONT SHOW AGAIN warning and accidently adding a breakpoint you don't need shouldnt happen, but this new feature could be pretty cool for some.

The adding of Open Graph stuff for twitter etc to the already pretty good considering the impact on search engine results (AI and social media boon inclients search engine requests) has against the good old way of search engines
requests via a browser. But then again ask yourself, do my visitors or my clients visitors actually use that way of finding a website amongst the billions of other websites out there.

Finally for me these latest additions/features take Site Designer App right up there in the stratosphere, keeping it as one of the leading (if not THE LEADER) in creating stunningly awesome websites, with simplicity of WYSIWYG using drag and drop features combined with some cool back end stuff that can be easily added, for the more experienced designer/developers, but also for those that don't use code, be it custom code available over the internet or written by them.

Well done CC Team, personally this is a great update which takes Site Designer (Combined with other CCup apps) right up to the final frontier.

In the not to distant past a few days after an update was another update to fix the myriad of pointers from the multitude of posts on the update.

this version of site designer has gone through some fairly extensive testing before the release there maybe a few things that may have been missed and a few more that need considering for the next upgrade. But generally it's a very nice upgrade for anyone who needs and will use the new features.

i am not commenting on the quality of the update. i am commenting on the quantity of response to it from forum members. has anyone purchased the update?, those are the people i wish to hear from. all my entries about the past are referring to the large number of people actively engaged with the software on the forum. i have not seen any forum entry that would lead me to believe that they had purchased the update. in that i am contemplating purchasing it, i need to hear from people who have done that.

The latest build was published on March 25, and the release notes came 5 days later. So I would guess that a great many people hadn't discovered the new update at first. And besides, it's Easter week, and people might be having time off and doing other things than sitting at the computer.

The mentioned release notes explained all the new features very well. Since the CC punters don't actually have the habit of coming to the forums to praise the company when things go well, only when something is wrong, or not easy to understand, they come to the forums asking for help, or even complaining. Since we haven't had any of that, we should actually take it as a good sign.

Have you even read the release notes??
How about making your own mind up about whether or not the updates will be of any use to you or not. or even if you understand how you would use them with your project. And then should you decide to jump in, be the first to comment??

I paid for SD build 3626 by virtue of having renewed my 'support and update' subscription in October 2025, and I use S-Drive as my only host.

I used to have a more expensive host which supported PHP because the search facility on my website used to need that. Current higher Internet speeds make the search facility OK using JavaScript, and I've found S-Drive far more appropriate than spending extra money for facilities I don't need. Into the bargain CoffeeCup S-Drive proves to be a better option in terms of its simplicity in conjunction with DirectFTP, and of its friendly support. I wish I'd switched to S-Drive for my website a year or so before I got round to doing so.

Like Inger and Wayan, I think the new facilities in SD build 3626 are worthwhile, and they work without a hitch as far as I can see.

CC posted. There's less activity as the apps have been worked over and fixed most major issues. AI I bet is also reducing activity.
