Is there a way to have the program show what resources are being used in your site - the ability to remove unused images would be great.

And the ability of the program to allow you to move items to another folder from the resources view would be helpful (needs to maintain link if used in the site). I found that I had created this site with all images in the root directory - only to realize I would have to delete and re-import into a new folder - basically starting from scratch...

I too would love to see the ability to remove unused resources automatically. As a designer I know that we should be taking care of this manually as we are editing websites but sometimes I forget to go into the resources and delete the photo there once I have removed an element from the canvas.

What about a visual indicator for an item that is being used on the "canvas"?
Like a green dot on the thumbnail? Would make it easier for us visual people. :D

Sorry but that automatic removal facility wouldn't suit me at all, I usually place all my images in the resources right from the start (well the ones I know I am going to use) once the design is well on the way I often upload to my testing server to show clients the development. So I assume with an automatic thingy for un-used resources, it would delete any un-used images at that time,, therefore necessitating me to put all the images/ other un-used resources back again.

I would support an OPTION as to whether or not to have an automatic removal, if everybody insists on having it.
I would support the ability to MOVE things in resources to other folders etc (and not lose links) that would be pretty neat

Not sure about needing anything else more visual as to whether resources are being used (easy to see which ones are in use from the actual pages within the design (unless of course one has more than one image that looks the same but are maybe different sizes( for example,) but then there is no indication as to the sizes with the image)) in which case that sort of thing boils down to good housekeeping.

I don't think anyone was suggesting any kind of automatic removal of unused resources.

It would and should be a option - but what about a way to "see" from the resources panel what is actually in use as opposed to just loaded and not used (then automatically added to the EXPORT folder - to then have to manually remove prior to FTP for testing).

And moving resources around as needed - because something changed with your site hierarchy would be amazing!

I like the idea of a green dot next to the thumbnail in the resources window to let us know that a resource is being used. We can then visually see which ones are not being used really fast and then just delete them ourselves manually.

This would really help when we have images that are very similar and we can get mixed up which ones are actually being used. Or in the case where the file names are getting truncated a bit.

I find it easier to see items that are marked than to notice items that are not marked. I also suspect that most people, like me, would have most of the Resource items actually used, and just want to check for the occasional unused item.

I would therefore prefer some sort of marking in the Resource box for the items that are not yet used.
