Site Designer Won't Install on new...

Is this a known issue? I've just updated my Mac to the new OS 11 (Big Sur) and installed Site Designer 4.0.
When open the app, the mac runs hot trying to open it and uses 90+% of the CPU but can't open it. Do you have any advice about this? I can't find anything in the Forum or Knowledge files. I'm thinking maybe it's just not designed to work on OS 11. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
CCollins

Hi Charlotte,
I would try uninstall and reinstall. If that doesn't help open a support topic.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Hi Charlotte,
Maybe you should not run OS software that has not been released yet.
The final version of OS 11 will probably be released in October or later. I am sure CoffeeCup staff will do the testing for you in due time.

The reference to the heat generated and the CPU usage may suggest also that one should check that the system requirements for this public beta OS are met. This web page gives the relevant information.

Usually the new beta version of OSX would refuse to install on non-compatible hardware. Unless you are a software developer it does not make much sense to signup for the Apple Developer Program and install a beta version of OS.

Indeed so. Apple support ( https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201686 ) says, "If you try to use an incompatible macOS, your Mac might not finish starting up, or it might behave unexpectedly." It lists 9 of the things that might happen - and that's not even talking about beta versions.

I also couldn't get Site Designer 4-3225, 4-3285, 4-3054, or 4-3256 to launch on the final version of macOS Big Sur, But Site Designer Version 3.5 Build 2979 works.

Hi Gary, I think you may need to update your version of SD to the current level for it to work on Big Sur.

Hi Steve, Thank you for your suggestion.
My MacBook Pro Retina, 15-inch Mid 2015 (purchased new from apple in 2017) with macOS Big Bur 11.0.1 will not mount Site Designer 4.0-3225, 4.0-3285, 4.0-3054, or 4.0-3256, 4.0-3285; But as I mentioned, Site Designer Version 3.5 Build 2979 works.

My Mac Pro late 2013 with macOS Big Bur 11.0.1 is running Site Designer Version 4.0-3113 is the only Version 4.0 that works without any problems.
I’m not ready to upgrade to version 5.0 yet.

As you can see by your comment LOL there is great reason why software companies will only support the most current version of their software. You could try to submit a support ticket with Coffeecup but I highly doubt they will be able to help. All I know for sure is that SD 5 does work on BigSur no issues.
