The cookies thing is interesting. I haven't coded any cookies into it and, when I checked in Chrome, I didn't find any. I wonder where the ones you saw came from.

I find most useful the CookieServe wesite.

Checking the contact page (http://cowfoldprecision.co.uk/contact.html) in that site reveals the cookie created by the Google map.

I did speak to the client regarding SSL certification and they're of the opinion that, since the site isn't interactive beyond navigating around it and doesn't collect any information from the user, it wasn't necessary and it's hard to argue with the logic of that

My response to any of my clients who have also raised similar reasons is
consider this
HOW MANY POTENTIAL CLIENTS ARE YOU GOING TO LOSE WHEN THEY SEE A MESSAGE THAT SAYS SOMETHING TO THE EFFECT OF "THIS SITE IS NOT SECURE; DON"T ENTER ANY SENSITIVE INFORMATION THAT MAY BE INTERCEPTED AND USED BY OTHERS"
(the word POTENTIAL is important because these are people who don't know your site or maybe even your client, they don't know that your site doesn't actually collect that sort of information they just see the message and more times than not will just leave.)

These people are not to be confused with the casual people just browsing and leave within the 4 seconds that is said to be the norm (4 seconds being less attention span than a Goldfish!!) you will always have plenty of them.

I will lay odds that the answer from your client will be We don't know how can we tell?

The answer back then is even if it's one or two a month (a fairly reasonable amount) that's one or two POTENTIAL customers that's
POTENTIALLY lost revenue. Any person running a business should be able to at least get a good estimate as to the average amount a customer spends over the year.

So the answer should have been is it worth potentially losing new customers for the sake of getting the site secured.

Some hosting providers offer special deals or even free shared SSL certificates, which in your clients' case would suffice as the site doesn't need a full-blown certificate because it doesn't collect sensitive information so shared may well do it sufficiently enough.

Hi Martyn. Good work on the website. I think the mobile screen size would benefit from having just icons for calling and emailing instead of icons plus numbers. It would be clear and would save some room making the navigation bar slightly cluttered currently.
I would make the font icons for phone and email clickable links and add the class "hide-for-small-only" on the text links?
Regards Phil

Thank you. You make a valid point but I probably won't make the changes at this time, although I shall bear them in mind for any future updates. The client's happy and, more importantly, paid, so... :-)
It is a good suggestion though, and I shall almost implement it in future designs.

Hi All

Here us my first website using Site Designer 4.0 Build 3071. Any feedback would be appreciated :)

https://ulwazirocklodge.co.za

A huge applause to CoffeeCup for Site Designer V4.0. I have been using Ver 2.5 until recently and finally plucked up the courage to try ver. 4.0. What a pleasure to develop websites using this application.

I found the odd bug but they were minor and did not affect or caused any issues during the design.

WELL DONE CoffeeCup!!
