Hi,

All these website analyzers out there are going to make me crazy! I have clients all using different ones they run across and running their sites through them and freaking out because they get different results in them all. This one is stumping me, though. This one: https://website.grader.com/results/allforkidsalaska.com is telling me that I don't have a title or a description tag on the site. If you view source you can clearly see they are there. In fact, NONE of my RSD sites show that they have titles and descriptions in this one. Here is the RSD site in question: http://allforkidsalaska.com

Anyone have ANY suggestions?

It's not saying you don't have a title meta tag. It's telling you they're to long or not relevant.

Title ----
not only that it is too long or irrelevant, but it is an exact copy of your keyword list, and the title tag should not be more that 600px wide

Description -
although you are only just over the limit for the number of characters (limit 160 characters inc spaces) ideally you should try to keep it around 120 characters inc spaces, as it seems Google will still truncate the third line of the description tag, on their SERP , over 120 characters including spaces the max width is 1200px so if you have some longer words in the description, that effects the px width.

Google keeps changing the goal posts on these things so it's worth keeping upto date with the latest stuff from them
and other SE requirements,, so you can achieve a good balance between them all

I would take with a pinch of salt the result from website grader .com or any online website tester for that matter . i take the professional route and only issue my clients with a well prepared SEO report which is what i recommend at the start .Take back control as to the ongoing results and ranking . Your clients should be thank full you have done a great job on there website design . Have you ever shown them a proper SEO report ? ,most clients are impressed as you show them you totally have there best interest at heart .

I would take a look at https://www.coffeecup.com/website-insight/ and download the trial this is the type of software that will give you the information to prepare a great SEO report as you see the information you will get on how a website is performing or not will be invaluable not only to your client's but it will tell you areas where you can improve as a designer . SEO is the only way to have any real control over how you get your client's website high on ranking . regarding showing you an example all my client's reports are confidential as would yours be this is not a cop out . SEO reports should never be under estimated , SEO reporting takes time to prepare and analyse it takes you to another level as designer .
My advise is to keep 3 types of reports for your clients one at the start of there existing site or if they don't have one find there competitors in there area and run a report on there site . this will give you a starting point with a ranking score .
the second one is the Summery report which is used for showing areas of growth or not and is useful for client's who do there own marketing . and finally the full in depth report which i would only run 2 times a year as this is normally about 30/40 pages long this report i use this to give your clients a great incite to all there great work they have helped you with remember You and your clients have to work hand in hand to get the best performance from any website . Finally this industry is full a wannabe website idiots who claim they can build you a great website £100 or $ 200 . when all they do is use a Word Press template !!!! . All i can say is keep in mind that you are a true professional designer and arm yourself with as many great tools that you need . Good luck in all you do

I do have website-insight already. I have not prepared any real reports as I am not sure how to fully use that function. I'll dig deeper and give it a look.

Thank you everyone! It was that they were too long. I usually do ALL search engine work for my clients but every once in a while, one will bite the bait of one of those SEO places that offer too much to be true. That was the case here. I hadn't seen the website grader thing before. I thought I knew them all.

Thanks Adrian, for the recommendation for website insight. I will definitely take a look. I usually use the google tools to show my clients how their sites are fairing, but this one looks like it might help me out.
