Hey everyone!

The HTML Editor V16 is here. The backend has been reconfigured to handle website project files more efficiently and in turn it runs much faster. This is especially handy if you have huge projects with hundreds of pages.

Some other changes include:

* Added "Code Diagnostics" menu to Tools menu.
* Pressing F11 in the external preview window now hides it so you can press F11 in either the main window or the external window to toggle it.
* Fixed HTML Validation.
* The Open From Web feature can now open HTTPS webpages.
* Changed the loading of the My Computer tab. It now does not load until the tab is selected.
* We scanned URL's and updated CoffeeCup links to HTTPS, and commented out unused URL’s.
* Editor Context menu now has a "Insert Snippet or Library Item" menu, with "Snippet" and "Library Item" sub-menus that load all of the items.
* Table Designer can now be minimized while modal.
* Updated Quick Start help links.
* Fixed-up an anomaly where an untitled document with no path would be added to the recent files list when opened from a search result.
* Insert Image Dialog now adjusts for CSS pages, reducing options and inserting URL('filename.ext') instead of HTML IMG tag.
* Dragging and dropping an image on a css file inserts "url("imagefilename.jpg")" instead if html IMG tag.
* Added "Go to Documents folder in My Computer Tab" and "Go to Documents folder in Explorer" under the Document menu.

We'll have a newsletter announcement shortly about downloading this version. :)

Greetings Webbies!

The new HTML Editor V17 is here! Today, we’re dropping an exciting update that includes some highly requested items such as end tag matching. Now when you click on an open tag, the corresponding closing tag will highlight. Among the plethora of fresh features, you’ll find:

ADDED:
  • Frameworks dialog now has recently used frameworks.
  • The ability to drag and drop image files to the Image Dialog from outside of the Editor.
  • The ability to drag and drop a folder to the Image Dialog from outside of the Editor to change the current location.
  • The ability to hold down Ctrl in the Editor (in a document) FIRST, and then drag and drop an image from outside of the editor (Explorer) OR from the My Computer/My Website tabs to a document which will then open it in the Insert Image Dialog. Basically the same as right clicking an image in the My Computer tab and then selecting "Insert Image with Options..."
  • Button "Go to Active Document's folder" to My Computer tab toolbar. Does the same thing that Document -> "Go to Document's folder in My Computer Tab" does.
  • "New JavaScript File" to File menu.
  • "New JavaScript File" to Welcome Panel.
  • "New JavaScript File" to Main Toolbar dropdown icon.
  • "New PHP Page" to File menu.
  • "New PHP Page" to Welcome Panel.
  • "New PHP Page" to Main Toolbar dropdown icon.
  • Help -> YouTube Tutorials menu item.
  • Fresh responsive templates within the Template chooser.
  • Viewport meta tag is now in each of the markup doctype _default.html files.
  • Viewport meta tag is now added to blank new HTML page code if the markup "_default.html" file is missing.
  • Viewport meta tag is now added to pages created from Quick Start HTML Page output.
  • In the My Computer tab, when the upper pane is selected (folders), Ctrl++ and Ctrl+- will increase and decrease the font size in the Resource Tabs. Ctrl+0 will reset font size to default.
  • Right-click context menu to editor document tabs: - Close "Filename" - Copy filename - Copy path and filename - Open location in Windows Explorer
  • Welcome/Recent panel to main interface when no documents are open.
  • Ctrl-Click will remove a recent item from the list
  • The ability to drag the resource browser tabs (My Websites, My Computer, Library, etc) to new positions.

CHANGED:
  • Open From Web dialog now follows redirects automatically.
  • "Insert Polyfill or JavaScript..." menu is now "Insert Frameworks (JavaScript/css)..."
  • Document Weight dialog: Made resizable and added DL times for 3g, 4g, cable.
  • Code cleaner exe to the latest Tidy version 5.7.28 2019.07.08
  • You can assign Microsoft Edge as an additional browser for testing.

FIXED:
  • Files opened on command line caused exception upon startup.
  • If the Tip of the Day dialog was shown on startup, and the user clicked on the editor window (outside of the tips window), the tips window would go behind the editor window and remain modal, basically locking up the editor.
  • Copy and cut keyboard commands copying and cutting nothing (erasing clipboard) when nothing was selected.
  • Ctrl+Backspace and Ctrl+Delete to delete previous/next word.

Greetings! We just released the new HTML Editor 17.0.841.

In this version, we added the ability to find the opening tag when having the cursor on the closing tag. This way you can see which exact element is being closed there.

Here are the other main improvements and fixes within this build:
  • Updated some links and wording within the trial version dialogs.
  • Make the default project location setting more visible. This way you are able to save the path for the default location for projects when creating a new project without having to go to preferences to change it.
  • Added phone number to link drop down.
  • We added the option to remove recent files from welcome screen.
  • Select all the tag content from the gutter arrow.
  • Added the ability to press the delete key to remove a highlighted link when the combo box is dropped down.
  • Added the ability to highlight search terms from the toolbar. This way you can see from a glance where the terms appear.
  • Corrected an issue with Validation and Unicode Chars. It was acting as though the document is valid, when using the built-in tool of HTML Editor shows some UTF8 errors should not be there.
Hope you enjoy the new build! :)
