Hey guy's, is there an HTML code that prevents people from viewing source or inspecting the site coding? I'm curious because i'm putting together my own theme, but I don't want anyone to view my source. Please help me if you know how to do this. :D
Have a great day everyone!!

Hello Max,

There are many different ways to accomplish this, but I will be honest they are easily bypassed and just bog your page down from loading. If someone wants it, they can and will get to it depending on if they are determined enough.

However, you may find some useful things here https://www.google.com/webhp?source=sea … p;bih=1075

Matt, if you want us to help you solving problems, the first thing we do is taking a look at your code. If you hide it from us, we can't help...

The worst effort I've ever seen as an attempt to block the source code, was someone who had put in miles and miles of white space between the lines. No need to say that the pages hardly loaded at all.
Ha en riktig god dag!

Ok guys, i'm just leary about people viewing sources and copying the theme, i'm trying my best to research this but the more I do the further away from it I get. I'll leave it up so you can help, i'd rather have assistance than completely disabling my support. Sorry guys, i'll leave it up.

Think of it this way. There are millions of pages on the net.

1. If your pages are popular 1000 plus unique's a day then celebrate I can get any site source, images the lot and I am a comparative novice. By the way the editor will do it for you real neatly, site images, source, theme, the whole deal. Woops! spilt the beans :o

2. Copying is the best form of flattery, encourage it, have a back link

3. Paranoia is not pretty, put the effort in making people want to copy it not stopping them, offer it as download with a cost of course.

Uncle, you can post your site in the Website Content & Review forum. It's only viewable to CC forum members. Of course, once your site is live, anyone can look if they want, but for the time being, you can keep your code postings private.

Hmm! Paranoia. Why worry, if it is good your indication is about hits if not then who cares. As I got older I lost the desire to look top notch every day when I realized no one really cares. If someone does then embrace it do not hide it. Then again I always look top notch, fair dinkum.

I learn by doing and learning from others. I have a lot of sites from others stored, sadly friend none of yours. not that I couldn't .

Personally I would not want to have a site that looked like another, We have an Elvis Carnival about now in Parkes I believe so there are those that do like to copy and there are heaps that do..

I do think you should put 100% into making a site that blows your competition out of the water not waste time in trivial pursuits.
My spin but I believe others may have your mentality. All the best whatever your path

I am a complete novice and I whole heartedly agree with the things that
Prism has mentioned, and would definitely concentrate on building a really brilliant site.

Just my thoughts, but if anyone did copy something, then that would be quite nice in a way :)
as something good may have been there. And others felt they might use it.

In my case its definitely not rocket science and has probably been done a zillion times already.

The Internet was designed to be transparent. Consider anyone who robs your design/idea to be someone who is complimenting you, and feel good about it :)

As others have advised, there are many tricks but they only serve to slow your sites loading time and this is no good as a determined thief will be easily able to steal whatever he/she needs from your code anyway.

So, concentrate on YOUR image, YOUR brand and YOUR traffic retention. That way, you get what you want/need and those who rob your idea/code/image/design are just a group of saddo's who haven't got the time/energy/imagination to do their own thing.

Dave :)
