Is there a way 2 change the text...

Was working on my site when I decided to make my email addresses into a link. If you high lite the text then clink on the link button and give you email address it will do it BUT when you leave the text box the link disappears until you do a mouse over? Am I doing something wrong or is the light blue text just too light to see?

Do I have to insert an object or picture then do it?

Thanks for any insight into this quirk.

Chuck

You can adjust those colors in VSD. Go to the Settings > Standard Settings for New Pages.

I would suggest you use a contact form though Chuck. Using an email address will just get you lots of spam in the long run. Also, if you do not have an email client installed, the link will not work for some. Check out Web Form Builder for that. ;)

Hi Chuck,

As Scott says, having me@mydomain.com etc. in the actual text of your site is asking for a sore finger: You'll be bashing the delete key in your e-mail inbox like a kid in an arcade on a 1980's Space Invaders game, (you'll get so much spam!!) :)

If you don't think you need a form, it's best to have "e-mail me" or "e-mail us" or "Get in touch" etc. and then have this as a mailto link.
This is easily achieved by editing the text that is underlined as the link in your VSD page view. You can open the Link properties and you'll see that the e-mail address remains unchanged.

Ultimately, Scott is right though. The best way to manage spam from your site is to avoid publishing your e-mail address in the markup at all. My suggestion will help minimise spam for you, but using a form generated in Web Form Builder will eliminate the risk of spam for you. Check it out here:
