What is the general workflow? - Post...

Hello,

I'm new to your software, and web designing in general. I've used Dreamweaver to make a site before. I guess I got a little used to the workflow of it and how it took care of making sure my links were correct, etc. And when I uploaded a new page via FTP, it would upload all of the images associated with the new page.

I just recently played around with Responsive Site Designer and I'm a little confused about the workflow and how to use all of your software together. Do most people use RSD to start off with? And after publishing the first draft, you use the free FTP to upload your site? What if you plan to add a new page everyday, like a daily entry to a personal blogging site. Do you have to republish the whole site?

Any way, I'm just kind of looking for the best way to approach using the Coffee Cup Software together.

Thanks,
John

I don't use Dreamweaver, so I'm not able to come up with any comparison.
In RSD you create the site, starting with 'mobile first', and when you are done, you save and export the project. The exported project can be uploaded using an FTP client. If you add pages or make other changes, you need to export again, and depending on what you changed/added, you will have to upload the new page, possibly the css and js files. If the new page involved a change of the navigation, you need to upload all the pages with that navigation on.
Ha en riktig god dag!

It doesn't compare in any way shape or form
as Inger says
You can make a website with RSD export it easy
but when you make any changes you have to come back to your RSD project file make the changes & export it again

There are no automatic link changes within RSD for any new pages, or sections/elements blah blah blah,
even if you export it to a HTML editor (I use dreamweaver for that) you can do certain things but if it needs something like CSS changing or JS that is possible but then that takes as much time as doing it in RSD and re-exporting.

and then of course you still have to eventually go back to RSD and make the new changes in there, otherwise if for any reason you need to re-export RSD again & you have forgotten to do those changes made in Dreamweaver, then it will overwrite the files .

Having said all of that RSD is a dream to create something visually, it doesn't come anywhere near to the cost of Dreamweaver so one shouldn't really expect something similar for a considerable amount less than Dreamweaver

CC offer a FREE TRIAL for 14 days - a full on working trial why not give it a try then you can see for yourself what it does, if it can do what you are wanting, and how it compares with Dreamweaver,

PS I export my project files to dreamweaver for a final spell check, and a sometimes couple of other things, then FTP to my server from Dreamweaver
