Hi

I need help.....My Visual Site Designer that I purchased yesterday has been crashing. Even with the trial version that it kept crashing only when I get onto Windows. I just assumed that it was in default -mode. But all in all its every morning that it crashes.

I need help to get this fixed or I will need a refund.

Thanks so much !!

Try this:

1. Right-click the shortcut icon, and click Properties.
2. Click the Compatibility tab.
3. Here, put a check mark by Run This Program as an Administrator.
4. Next, put a check mark next to Run This Program in Compatibility Mode For: and ensure Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 is selected.
5. Click OK.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Eric's solution fixed my problem as well, and I am indeed grateful that it worked, but it is extremely puzzling as to why the consumer needs to do this in the first place. I could understand if this was happening in a beta-version. This is the first time that I have ever needed to do this sort of maneuver to make any freeware or shareware program that I have run. Perhaps it might be something more involved than what I understand on the surface, but it's hard not to have the thought cross my mind that this should be fixed, and an update supplied quickly. I'm not angry or bitter, but it does seem rather obvious what should be done before people start posting possible reviews on the web about a software that doesn't appear to work right out the box in some instances.

Hi John. I see this issue all over the web. Your system needed for VSD mine didn't. I've had to do this for a few other non Coffeecup programs. If you hang out in those forums you find just a few users needing to make this adjustment the same as here. If there were a lot of users having this problem then I would say something should be done but in reality it's a windows issue specific to a few systems. At least you were able to come here and get it resolved.:)

Just so you know this is needed for MOST programs that are downloaded on XP and above. It is a Windows issue that keeps the programs from working correctly. I have about 5 programs that are not CoffeeCup that I have to use these settings on...

Since switching to Windows7, I had to do this for more things than not; my computer doesn't trust me to know what I want to open/use :P
