I am setting up a new venture whereby my firm will be selling/advertising on line various properties for sale. We are a firm of Lawyers and this area is very new here in New Zealand. I am determined to set the site up myself (call me perverse but I want to do it my way!). Initially, I want a crisp clean site that in return for a set fee, clients can log in and upload their own photos and/or videos, etc but the site must be simple to access, be refreshingly "different" and not a nightmare to administer. My questions so far are about whether Coffee Cup software is the right option for us and, if so, any suggestions, tips or tricks that may make my task both easier and more successful - I am determined to get it right! Has anyone else created a real estate related site? Would love to hear any comments............

You may not realize it, but you are asking a series of complicated questions. Basically, you want all of the information required to be a web developer (that is a lot of information!).

However, let me answer a few of your questions:

Yes, coffee cup software can get you where you want to go. Nobody offers more web development tools than CC.

CC has a very robust forum whereby users can ask questions throughout the process of web development, both in the area of web development itself as well as about the applications. So, to answer the more complicated question, the answer is yes, there are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable people on the forums who can assist you throughout the process.

What programs are you considering?

Thanks for that - I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't barking up the wrong tree. My other options are something like WebPlus X4 or starting with some pre-designed real estate template sites (of which there seem to be plenty).
I am also concerned that there may be some compatibility problems with my Windows 7 64 bit system which I have already encountered in other areas.
However, that aside, I am really keen to have a go - so I just need tocome to terms with the combinations of your software that I need. That can be tricky in itself!

CoffeeCup will allow you to get up and running with a static website. If you are looking for a website that queries a database for listings, that is a little advanced for DIY websites unless you purchase a turnkey application.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

All of the software runs fine on my windows 7 64 bit system. Take some of the software for a trial run, if that doesn't sell you on the software I don't know what will. I really think its top of the line for web development.

Great! No problem. The forums are very helpful, just stop back whenever you need something.

Good luck!
