Nice in editor - ugly in browser -...

I have a strange problem. I downloaded a service manual for a cordless phone and it consists of html files with images and extensive use of xml files.
In all browsers Internet explorer, Firefox and Netscape Navigator the display is incorrect, showing frames correctly but the content is just crunched up text and no images. However in CoffeeCup HTML Editor the display is perfect.
I think this is probably a fault of the xml files but why would it be perfect in the editor preview. It seems I will have to always use the editor to view these files which is OK but I really shouldn't have to do that.
I think I will slowly hack the xml files and convert them to html for now. No need to accept any result that is not as good as what I see in the editor.
But is this normal or what?

Hey there,

This is most likely because you are testing in the newest version of Firefox, IE, Etc. By default the HTML Editor uses IE8. If you were to change the Default Browser under Tools > Preferences you would most likely see the same mess you see when loading in a up-to-date browser.

Thanks for that advice Adam. That makes sense I guess and in that case I will stick with the plan and change all the xml files to html. Not that hard and I have to have something to keep me busy.
