Thanks for checkin 'em out... I guess I may need to rethink the avatar. Would NOT want kids to be sporting some of those designs for sure !

If your reputation is built on that name/image, I'd stick with it. If you are open to change, maybe a different domain name could help a bit better in the search engines. You could appear on searches for snotty. :D

You may perform better in the searches with a different domain name. Just something to ponder.

PS, and do remember I've tried to help you ..... if Johnny Depp needs a replacement shirt, can I deliver it please? :P

Too much rep built on that name to consider changing it now but thanks for the suggestions.
I have snottyshirts.com domain name locked down, just gotta get the page up and running now.

Oh, and I'll be sure to let you know should Mr. Depp ever come knocking!

Thanks, I'll hold you to that! :)

And yeah I agree with you. I just checked the urban dictionary, and I think it suits. I'm not always up on the current urban terms. :(

I was going to make some other suggestions, but Scott may put me in the sin bin.

Couple of small pointers, if your planning on exporting ie to UK buy the .co.uk before someone else does, once you get good ranking, the competition will grab every other version of your domain

Bren is correct, you dont actually need VSD :::BUT::: it is more google and yahoo friendly

the ability to have url's like snottyshirts.com/childstshirt and snottyshirts.com/designertshirts,, so on and so forth can greatly assist with page ranking

Its especially usefull if it means you can set up a unique page for each product range you are selling

Thanks for the pointers!

Especially on snagging the other countries domains since I DO ship worldwide.

So you're suggesting that if I were to use VSD to design just the home landing page and Cart Designer to do the meat and potatoes I would get better search engine rankings?

Also, would having urls like the ones above be accomplished by setting up different pages for each product within Shopping cart or am I off base?

Also, would having urls like the ones above be accomplished by setting up different pages for each product within Shopping cart or am I off base?,, in SCC your categories headings are very important, but not so easy to manipulate

Say you have 10 main products, as an example i will use car names its easier

VSD page snottyshirts.com/fordtshirts (with detailed description all about ford t shirts) , gets a page in vsd which links to your cart page which has mens t shirts with ford logo on, and ladies t shirts with ford logo

VSD page snottyshirts.com/mercedestshirts (with detailed description all about Mercedes t shirts) , gets a page in vsd which links to your cart page which has mens t shirts with Mercedes logo on, and ladies t shirts with Mercedes logo

I have all my details pages. about me, contact me, company profile, and in my main jewellery website, about 20 pages specifically aimed at one product each page ALL IN VSD, each page you can detail the keywords and headings for that one product

In sccp i only have products, with the shop home page name changed to information, which when it opens has a heading please go to home page for company details and product details, and a cross section of products highlighted from each category (delorean in signature)

re your domain names, if you are using a cpanel type hosting, you can PARK as many domains as you like in the rute directory, giving you extra chances at page ranking in different countries, .co.uk .us. etc.

Appx 3 years ago i was where you are now, selling on ebay at cut throat prices, giving ebay and paypal 80% of what should have been my profit

Business at present may be down by 50% because of recession etc, but my profit is up

And where in ebay the average punter wanted to spend say £25.00 for a silver signet, my internet customers pay £60.00 and buy a vastly better quality product

Glad to be of assistance, good luck,

Thanks Viv, excellent tips. While I have owned SCC for three years, I am just now getting ready to set up the first of several online stores. The more I learn in advance, the less I will have to learn the hard way. :)
