Highlighting problem - Post ID 204445
Just evaluating this software and pretty impressed so far.
However, the colour highlighting is driving me nuts!
If in a PHP file or PHP embedded in HTML, if there's an HTML tag inside a quoted string it throws the highlighting completely out. Anything inside quotes in PHP is a string (even if it has a tag in it) and should be highlighted as such.
The other thing it does is if you have some PHP (correctly highlighted) and you start typing some more code, it (seemingly randomly) un-highlights some of it. BUT: click on another file in the editor and then back to the original one and hey-presto, the highlighting is back!
Seriously though, the highlighting is really important to see syntax errors and I'm not sure I could live with the glitches and inconsistent behaviour.
Any plans to fix it?

Hiya Neill,
I would highly suggest opening a support topic to the CC Team to be sure they get your message. This forum is basically a user to user help forum so the people here will most likely not be able to address your issue. Sometimes someone from the CC Team will come in and post, but you shouldn't rely on that as the main means for customer support and if this issue is truly a bug it should be reported directly to them, and you may have found one of the reasons why that was happening which may help fix it.
Hopefully that will help them get the issue resolved as I'm pretty sure you're not the first one to report this.

Hi.
Thanks for the reply.
I'm pretty sure I used the support centre. It asked who I'd like to talk to (software support), software type, version & build. Not sure how it ended up on a forum.
Could you confirm exactly where I go raise a support issue (or to find if someone else has already raised this subject as you suspect)?
Thanks, Neill.

You would go to the top right on the menu where you signed in and click the orange arrow button which is a drop down, then choose Your Support Room which will take you here:

This is a known issue that we hope to address is one of the next updates of the software. I agree though, we can certainly improve on that functionality.

Having to use too many programs for a task is a pain, I have found that the editor makes a pretty good php ide. I have the open programs command to open the php help file. I don't know everything yet.
Highlight editing would be a good option but defiantly not a deal breaker. Great program. The more I play with it the more I discover just how far it will take me. I would like it to preview a php file though, Wishful thinking?

Scott: thanks for acknowledging the issue. Do you know when it might be fixed? It's my main sticking point against buying the software (only got 5 trial days left though!). The functionality is there, I'd just like it to work properly.
I'd be happy to help beta-test an update before it's released.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
