Hi,

I'm trying to evaluate the free HTML editor (15) and it shows some weird behavior. When I type anything, there is a delay of at least 1 second, sometimes more before anything happens on the screen. Also F11 does not work the first time, only when I hit that button a 2nd time. Is that normal or just because it's the free version?

This is not behavior caused by HTML editor. I would scan your computer for viruses.

Well, I only see that when I use the editor.

All other applications run normal. Writing this text did not cause any delay at all!

I'm using win 7 64bit.

And, btw, I just ran Malwarebytes and it didn't find a single thing.

Heres another thing you can try. Find the HTML Editor executable file and right-click on it and run as administrator.

Tried it, no change.

Practically every single keystroke pops up the hourglass for a split second.

I have checked the task manager several times to see if there's anything running in the background but there is nothing.

Thanks for all your help.

I would open a support ticket with Coffeecup... you can do that by clicking the support room at the top or click here https://www.coffeecup.com/help/myroom/

What content do you have on the page(s) you are editing with the HTML Editor? And where are your files located?
I have sometimes seen what you experience if e.g.
- there are heavy scripts on the page (like google maps) and you have the internal preview open.
- or if your files are located on some Dropbox or cloud device.

If any of the above applies to your case, try turning off scripts and save your files to your local drive.

Ha en riktig god dag!

I have only one simple html file open, the files are located locally on my PC.

What I noticed though is that the delay seems to start after I have hit F11 and opened the preview. Without the preview open everything seems to be normal, no delays.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
