I am having problems with my google webmaster tools account with canonical s of the home pg. workhorsepainting.com workhorsepainting.com/ workhorsepainting.com/index and perhaps others that I'm not aware of. Google is not indexing any because of the conflict. So it is important that I have the home pg indexed so I have decided to enter html tag self referential canonical on the workhorsepainting.com/index one because that is the home pg as per on my SD project. Is this <link rel=“canonical” href=“https://workhorsepainting.com/index" /> the proper entry to achieve telling google my chosen canonical?

Been a while since I posted, I did a search and will join one or more of these recommended forums for SEO help
https://www.hostinger.com/tutorials/best-seo-forums
I am curious if the website insight is current with the google technical requirements for SEO?
Will still study any responses to my query.

Not sure how often the CC staff come by the forums any more this may be a good question to log in support. I dont believe there has been an update to Website Insight for a long time so my guess would be its not completely current. That being said it still holds great value and everything it offers is still valid in todays SEO.

The question that you answered was not the original question I had asked is what on Saturday I had asked and was looking for the answer from the forums and not CC I would have put in a trouble report for that. It is very frustrating when ones question is ignored on the forums... I guess that I could log in to support my Saturday entry on this forum.

Hey Greg,

We are all just volunteers here doing our best. Truth is if it wasn't answered probably means people didn't know the answer.

Secondly you are asking us questions about your Google Webmaster account and related SEO. Not sure what Coffeecup application you are seeking help on.

Website Insight
Take a look at your website through the eyes of a search engine. Discuss the many ways to increase your website traffic and SEO ranking with other users just like you.
This is a copy and paste of the heading in the forums website insight. My understanding of the two sentences is that I should be able to discuss SEO of my website under the heading of this CC application. I have gone to some peoples web site home pg's looking for how they do their google tags on the subject of canonical and properties and views and such. I have not found one that did it the way I am asking and have found lots of ways that I did not understand being used. The google recommendations were that this is the best way to cover a canonical so I figured that it would be easy to find examples of it being used. Guess I will just have to try it and see what happens. After all its been not ranked for 5 years what is a few months or a half a year more in the big scheme of things anyway and the site does look good and work good. Everyone should have the domain.com of their site and then the domain.com/ of their web site and the domain.com/index of their web site home pg all are the home pg and are canonical and need to be addressed with some kind of a canonical handling tag with google. This is what I am asking about here.
