I understand your newish policy of charging for complete updates, but, putting out a new version so soon after the initial version and then charging for it seems *very* out of character for your company. This is more Adobe than CoffeeCup.
Version 1.0 was released in August, so that is not really like yesterday. We also do not charge Adobe prices. Remember that we also released v1.1 in September for free which you will not find any post in the forums thanking us for the free update.
I guess we could have not released v1.1 at all and held back v2.0 until January and then charged for the update that included all the functionality of both versions, but I think that would have made people more upset. Really no matter what we do here, some people will find fault in any decision we make.
So that brings up a good question for us to ask you. Would you prefer us to start holding back updates like this and then have a larger paid release? We could then move to a once or twice update per year per program so that they are never close together any more.
You do not have to purchase 2.0 today at all. Should you decide to wait until 3.0, you will still get a discount then as a registered user of the software. You will only be charged full price for 2.0 if you do not order it during this upgrade special.
