I know I didn't ask the question but that's all very interesting tips and tricks. I've found in the past that Yahoo is easier to get in the charts (my saying for how far you go up in the search engines) than Google. Google is a strange one I've found, you can do exactly the same thing to one site and it will do ok in the charts but another won't, but I will implement some of these tips, although I do use some of the ideas here.

This is in my own testing (so its not documented):
I have found that Google focuses primarily on the keyword attributes as they relate to the content. A much more complicated algorithm is involved. However, I have found that yahoo's is much simpler as its foci tends to be title tags.
Needless to say they are two completely different.

Just question that I have not found any answers too by browsing through the threads but I love this software but am worried about the whole Flash thing. Flash is not a favorite format for hardcore designers due to the fact that is is not recognised too well my search engines. I just wanted to know whether the content put into the blog can be spidered by search engines or if it just skips it as a flash file? This is quite important to me as the blog is being created specifically to drive more traffic to my site.

It will skip over it because it is a movie with no actual text. It treats it more like a picture. However, what I do and this is usually a good way around this issue, is to load up your "alt" tag within your embedded code with the contents. This way it stays behind the movie unseen and is still spiderable.

I have been using swfobject.js to display Flash elements. The web site for swfobject.js gives you a standard method for providing Google,Yahoo,etc with an alternate view of your Flash content wjicjh is easy to implement.
Since it is an alternate view, most people will never see it. They will see the Flash content. But the spiders will see the alternate text and consider it as page content.

CoffeeCup programs have a built-in option to use swfobject vs the object/embed tags.

Under options, look for Active Content Fix and check it.

I use Coffeecup Sitemapper. Sitemapping in an XML file and is excellent SEO as it allows the search engines to zip in and around your site. In fact when Google, Yahoo and Bing come to visit, they all look for a Sitemap!
SEO is extremely important to ensure you get found - I also believe we should have an SEO forum!
My two cents worth (euro cents that is )
