Hi,
Another newbie question.
I've spent the last 6months building a largish site and launched it 2days ago. I've received feedback that the page becomes disorganised in ie6 and a firefox user couldnt access it properly.
my site is www.ultrasoundpaedia.com
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatfully recieved.

I'll have to look at it further, but it does seem to be rearranged in ie6, but I have FF 3.0.10 and it shows up just fine.

I used FF3.5 and the drop down menu is squashed into the bottom left hand corner. Very odd.

I ran into a few errors in debugging the javascript code, but don't have the time for a full debug.
I would replace the javascript menu with a pure CSS dropdown menu. That way it would be cross-browser compatible and much easier to maintain.
You can obtain some clean code for free on some nice basic dropdown menue at this site: http://www.cssplay.co.uk/index.html

I answered your question about the DHTML menu on another thread.
The CoffeeCup newly released HTML Editor 2009 has a nice CSS menu as one of it's features. It will do most of what the DHTML menu will do, and it should stay where you put it.

If you want to see a replacement DAT file for the DHTML operating, take a look at any of the sites in my signature.
I did not make the changes, but another member made them for me and I share the file.

Hi Bill,
I try to avoid using javascript in my menus because of the option to turn it off in most browsers. Then you have to code an non-javascript option.
Nice sites. Did you do the initial designs?

On my personal site, there is a standard menu at both top and bottom, I use JavaScript to hide the standard menu at the top, and my DHTML (JavaScript) menu will then show. I am planning to have a CMS version of the menu in place soon.
All three of the sites in my signature are mine (mostly). One I took over and kept the general look and feel (color and background). One I built in close contact with the boss (my daughter), she described what she wanted, and I built it..

Hi Bill,
I'm not against Javascript for menu use, if fact I've been looking at JQuery and it's use in building menus. I guess it's time to become more proficient in that language.
