Okay, it's time for me to get serious about my website. I bought the CC website kit, etc. and I think I can revamp my website to make it look more professional.

Do you think I can change this:

To look something like this:

With the CC software or do I need to hire somebody?

Hiya Lamar,

What software did you actually purchase just so we know which way to steer our feedback and answers? CC doesn't have a website kit (well anything called a kit that is hehe) so I'm not sure if it's the Visual or Code software you purchased and such. Let us know that and I'm sure we can help you better.

As for the answer? Yes I am very sure you can, no matter whether you're using VSD or the HTML Editor, there's a lot you can do with either one :)

Jo Ann I think he is referring to the packages.

Lamar,

Yes, you can very much do something like that. I have a few cautions for you, the website you gave as an example was very link heavy. So you have to be somewhat creative in how you display that many links. Second, CC software can certainly help you development professional looking websites. In fact, I use CC software for the majority of my websites (with the exception of blogs). From my companies websites: www.innovatewebdevelopment.com, to my clients websites. Here is the new portfolio I am creating. it is not done, but I have some screenshots of some of the websites I have built with CC software:

The other thing I want to mention is that, Coffee Cup provides web development software, they do not provide websites. What I mean, is that you still have to create the website. They do offer templates for the creatively challenged :) but even they have their limits.

I think you will find that CC software is in a class by itself. If you ever need any help with your website or the software, just come back to the forums and we will be glad to help you.

Good luck, and start creating!!!!!

Yeah I figured it was some package or another, but unfortunately it's really not clear which software it is :)

Lamar you can use CC software to create any style of site you want. Not sure about the second one you mention, I'm sure you can come up with something better than that visually.

G'kar,

I am not changing my site, I am just getting rid of the basic portfolio I have and making a new one.

Its funny you say that though, my wife reacted the same way. :)

Yeah I like your sites Eric. Your company one is really really cool and I'm glad your not changing it, the only problem with it, is that on the homepage it has horizontal scrolling, although I don't need to tell you that. Your personal site is very classy, don't know what your on about :P but it looks great.

Working on a new site using SCD and SCC and am wondering if there is a way to change the global text size? On SCD, the max seems to be 20 and when I preview my site in IE or Mozilla, the font on my home page seems to be too small.
I have done multiple searches and cannot seem to find an answer. Thank you,
Mary

Mary... 20px is pretty large for a font size. But what you can do is add a little note somewhere to remind users that they can increase the page (and text) size by using the keyboard commands, CTRL + . In the areas of your store where you can add in html boxes, you can of course add in your own styling to the paragraphs by adding a little css without having to delve into the shop files to make changes in the default code.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
