Browsers to test in - Post ID 110201

I'm using the latest CC editor and testing my stuff in Explorer, FireFox, Chrome and Opera.

My site is simple and uses tables* for the main structure and CSS <div> containers, there is a small bit of Javascript for navigation on a couple of pages and no Flash - so is that a reasonable range of browsers to test with or does anyone think I should use more?
I would be grateful for any comments.

* Yes I know, as I mentioned on another thread, one day I'll dump tables and go all-CSS.
But I like to go into the water a little bit at a time.

I think that's fine. Those are the main ones I test in as well. Unless, I am suspicious of possible browser incompatibilities, I just stick with those. :D

Safari is another common one, especially for Macs but also PC
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

Thanks for that everyone (@Tassie, I've added Safari to the list now)

I would also recommend you test in IE 7 and IE 8 as there are some distinct differences between the two. IE 6 you can ignore.

I'll do that (I read about the funeral for IE6 on another thread).

I'm using IE7 at the moment, I''m thinking of downloading the IE8 setup file from Google;s site, if I run it will IE7 be retained or will it be replaced by IE8?

It will be replaced. You can only have one version of IE installed at a time.

This app works pretty well: http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE
