Slow Form Submission - Page 1 - Post...

I currently run a contact form on my own site via my hosting server (I use JustHost). I'm a little concerned about how long it takes to submit the form. I've tested it multiple times now and I'm finding it is taking between 10-18 seconds to submit and show the confirmation message. The form only consists of a name, email and comment field. Is there anything I can do to speed it up a bit? Could adjusting the PHP version my site is using make any difference at all?

Have you tried your form on another host?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Are you doing this on your host computer or actually on the fly? I have a similar issue at present, but I'm doing it my PC it's not on the fly, just yet. I'm not sure if it's going to make that much difference, although it should in theory.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'on the fly'. All I can say is I uploaded all the files that were generated with the software to my FTP. I've tried changing my PHP version via the Cpanel in JustHost to see if that made a difference. It didn't. Regardless of that, at best the form took 7 seconds to submit, at worst 21 seconds. It keeps saying 'waiting for [mywebaddress].com' for an age.

I'll have to try using SDrive...

Works a lot quicker, submitting the form virtually straight away. Does this happen to be a deliberate ploy by CoffeeCup to convince you to buy one of their upgrade packages? The disadvantage of the SDrive option is I do not get access to the files so I can't make those vitally important CSS changes.

We would never do that Andrew! :)

The issue you are having is probably something you need to address with JustHost. Just ask their support why there is such a huge delay and they should be able to look into this. I have used forms on Godaddy, 1&1 and HostGator to just name a few and submissions are virtually instantaneous.

Hi Andrew I can assure you this is not the case. I currently use ipage as my host and have been with two others since and my forms always worked fast. I am pretty sure it may be your host that is the issue.

I had a response from JustHost yesterday. They just said that they couldn't find anything on my server directory that could be slowing things down—so they said maybe the form is coded in a way that is slow or just to try another contact form. Useless advice — so for now I'll put up with the 7 second delay and hope it magically speeds up sometime soon. I'll end up having to change hosts.

Hey Andrew send me your wfb file and I will upload it to my server then you can see if it's the form or the host. My email address can be found on my website in my signature.

Common answer from a bad host. What is the link to the page with your form on justhost? I want to access it from here and see if location makes any difference on how fast it processes. If you don't mind...

Actually they've been a very good host up to now. But there's no room for loyalty as far as web hosting sites go.

Anyway, the link is acmfootball.com/contactus
