Ditching Joomla and coming back to...

I've had a few "security battles" with one of my websites created with Joomla. It seems it's soooo easy to hack a Joomla created website UNLESS you follow a 5 to 10 point list of "security" procedures to ensure no one "hacks" your website. The thing is, I created this same website using Coffee Cup products and I've never had the site hacked. Once I created the site in Joomla, BOOM hacked again and again. I create websites on the side and I really don't have the time to go into extensive measures to "secure" the site.

I just want to say keep up the great work Coffee Cup because you make creating websites much easier than other development tools. If I get hacked while using your products at least I can run a backup that ACTUALLY WORKS. Thanks again for creating top notch products. All I can say is "I'm back to actually coding my websites again and it feels good.
Technology is a beautiful thing, when it works.

You have to harden most open source CMS and forum software. It's the nature of the beast.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

just a note.. Drupal is far more secure than Joomla, from my experiences.

Have to say one of the reasons I gave up on Joomla was for that precise reason. I now use DotNetNuke a lot for content management sites, but no longer attempt to upload myself, but just use my server's own installation which still gives me all the action I need. I don't know enough code to go inside there and get my hands real messy, so just being to slip in the extra modules here and there is enough. That way someone else is responsible for taking care of the security issues.
Here is one of my examples:
nuovaicona.com
I just had fun doing the skinning in my CC HTML Editor (perhaps to say a nightmare would be more appropriate) and then uploaded into the admin area of the site. Did about 100 tweaks until the pages behaved themselves - but I knew that would happen.

Of course... took some effort to convince the commissioner that the colour was just right!!! But if I must maintain a site, at least let the colour keep me happy!

I was once curious about Joomla and started working myself into it, but then I got p.... off by a forum user here a couple of years ago, some of you might perhaps remember...

CoffeeCup is exactly my cup of - tea.
