Did I tell you guys I was in an Archery club as a teenager. Now you must admit a quivering arrow sticking out of a victim has a certain appeal as apposed to a nice neat hole a bullet makes, hollow points excepted. A crossbow has the accuracy of a rifle over about 150 meters and just as deadly. I still think the laptop an innocent victim though.

I have a Crossbow, compound, re-curve and longbow. I also get out the Slingshot and Boomerang once and a while. I'm also pretty good with a stone. Get a lot of practice skipping them on the lake. I don't have a spear yet but but my boys have been encouraging me to make one. If were out camping a little hatchet throwing is also good source of fun.:)

why do people assume that because somebody owns a gun, they're going to use it for the worst possible thing? that assumption is the equivalent of saying that because somebody has the internet and a computer, they're surfing child porn.

i grew up shooting clay pigeons with my parents. having to be responsible for my actions at an early age taught me life lessons that i have passed along to my daughter.

i applaud the father in that video. while i do admit it was rather extreme ( i for one wouldn't have used the hollow points with how expensive they are, nor would i waste the laptop) but he effectively gets the point across to his daughter that her bad behavior will not be tolerated, and also removes any hope that she'll be able to be good for a day or a week and get her laptop back.

I think there is were some people do not understand the distinction between LEGAL gun owners and ILLEGAL gun owners. The legal ones are not the ones causing the problems. It is the ILLEGAL ones that do. That is why I have enough ammo and fire power to get me through at least 3 weeks when the Apocalypse comes sometime in 2012. ;)

Well I for one applaud his "idea" of reprimanding her, but on the other hand I would have formatted the computer and sold it LOL instead of trashing it.

Sorry to burst that bubble but the last gun based massacre spree in the uk was a licensed gun user who went on a personal vendetta and finally shot himself. :(

A few years ago my family went to visit one of my wife's old friends from childhood. She has a young girl and a boy. She is also everything anti gun to the point that it seems unhealthy. She even bought a really cute Cowboy outfit for her boy complete with chrome six shooter that she through away. We were eating lunch out on the deck when her son came out from the kitchen with his cowboy outfit on and half a PBJ sandwich tucked in the belt line of his costume. She asked why he had his sandwich tucked in his pants and he promptly pulled it out and while pointing it at her said "Reach for the Stars". He had taken a bit out of the half sandwich making a notch for his finger making it appear to be a gun. It was a priceless moment and it actually made her realize that she couldn't control her sons imagination. She went out and got her boy a new six shooter to complete the outfit shortly after our visit.:)

Yes, but was there not a religious reason behind the shootings? Something about God told him to do it?

No not this one, he fell out with his wife, and his colleagues were less than sympathetic, and he took it personally i think if i remember rightly he blamed the family gp , at first there seemed no connection between the victims but as time passed they were all acquaintances bar one who got in the way and was shot in error.
