As Wayan's question implies, there are several possible answers.
My own preference is to reduce the file to absolutely plain text by copying and pasting it into a plain text program (e.g. the free Notepad++) and removing any formatting characters*. I then copy and paste each paragraph into a Paragraph element, formatting it as I wish using the SD V3 controls. This allows precise control of layout, and, of course, by using classes for different styles of paragraph (indenting, hanging etc.) is fairly quick and easy.

* In lengthy documents the use of Find and Replace All makes this simple.
