Is it me or does anyone else find the Text Edit Mode completely infuriating.
I want to span some of my paragraph with a bold style say...
Sometimes it works, then it doesn't, sometimes it creates new generic classes?
Has anyone else found this, am I doing something basically wrong?
Regards

I do find the odd time it does that. I have to deselect the element and reselect to fix. I cannot get it to do it consistently so it's hard to troubleshoot.

In the Text Editor Mode I have found it best to work as follows -
(a) to do very little of the styling within it, keeping all the main styling in the Styles > Design > Typography section for the element;
(b) whenever styling within the Text Editor Mode, immediately to rename the 'generic' class shown to something I'll recognise, so that I can re-use that class within the Text Editor elsewhere;
(c) to be consistent and very careful when selecting the words spanned by styling within the Text Editor, so that re-selection of that spanned text is accurate (for example I avoid including in the selection spaces before the first word and and after the last word).

I do not know whether the above practices universally avoid the ills mentioned, but I have followed them for masses of text with hundreds of styled links set up in the middle of paragraphs in Text Editor Mode, and those practices seem to have worked for me.

I pretty much do the same thing as Steve and usually select a different element and then go back to select the specific text. It's one of those things that I've just gotten used to doing whenever I have trouble selecting anything.
