Hi
This is very strange, and it's just started today, Indonesian Time 12;00am

When I open a project file that I have been working on for a year, and I open "Page Manager" If I select a different page to the one that was selected when I opened the project, nothing happens, (normally it would display the page I selected in file manager).

If I then close "file manager" and open "Pages" tab, and select the page I wish to work om then it's OK go es to that page, however if I then open "File Manager, It's still displays the page that it had when I opened The project.

Wierd,, if i want enter stuff in the page File Manager, I have to select the page in "Pages" tab, close the project, (save) then reopen it, which then will open 'File Manager at the page I want.

SD latest version
Not massive site only 12 pages, quite a lot of image files (All Optimised to WEBP format) not all images yet placed in the project,
Some custom CSS code/JS code and 10 forms (Webform Builder)

Anyone else got it, or have experienced it.
Very strange indeed and frustrating to say the least.

Hi Wayan.

The only way I can reproduce that effect is as follows. At the top of the list of pages in the Page Manager there is an 'Activate on selection' check box. If I remove the tick from that box, the page shown on the canvas doesn't change when selecting another page.

Perhaps that check box has somehow had the tick removed, and restoring the tick there will do the trick.

Frank

Wow that's it I must have caught it by accident and never noticed, always had that box ticked all the time I've been using site designer.
Thanks a lot,

Hi Wayan.

I had to find out where that setting was, initially have looked in Actions > Preferences.

I wonder
1. in what circumstances people find it an advantage to untick that check box;
2. whether the option was perhaps introduced to speed up switching from page to page within the Page Manager when computers were less powerful than today.

It was indeed a strange thing. I read Wayan's post yesterday, and before reading Frank's reply, I opened a project in SD, and had exactly the same thing happening!
Then I opened the 3541 testing version, which I also have installed, opened another project (one that I hadn't converted to the newer build, and that worked ok as far as changing the pages in Page Manager goes. I opened that older project in the new SD, and it worked fine there, too. Then I read what Frank had written, and became aware of that wee box for activating the page selection. It was ticked, and I don't think I've ever touched it.
Finally, I opened the first project in 3626 again, and now the page selection in Page Manager worked fine.
Gremlins? :o

It would appear that the Gremlins are part of the 3 musketeers !!!!! team (one for all and all for one)

If you either de-select , or select that wee little box, on ANY Site Designer Project, (regardless of how old it is, regardless if it's a brand new project), that ALL previous Site Designer Projects will follow that selection action,
So I must have inadvertently deselected that wee tick box, in the project of the website I am working on (like Frank and others I save project files at the end of the day with a unique identifier (usually the date,) such that if the client requires changes to the content/design etc, I am sure to amend the correct file accordingly.

I am still a bit confused as to why i would have deselected it, I certainly don't remember doing so,
Ahh wel that's life sometimes, very strange happening though

Although the box is tiny, it's easy to set it by accident. Clicking anywhere on that 'Activate on selection' bar will tick or untick that little box.

Unless there is good reason to the contrary, I think the option could be removed, having it always activated by default.

Or it seems to me to put it into the preferences thingy, after all if one wants to set it or unset it then that's one's preference and have it always activated, such that it is a conscious decision by a user to de-activate it.
