It does not seem to work Setting background-color in editing elements. I just won't work picking colors in RSD for Mac. I also want to set the background-color for the body itself via RSD.

Hi Wilford,

What you want to do is select the Grid and apply the background color of choice to that.

That does not work. It's not using the colours that I selected.
The background-color: transparent, this will not change....

Open the color picker and change the opacity (the little a in the bottom right hand corner of the color picker dialog) to 1.00. :)

Adam, I'm having the same problem. I've selected the row in RED (it's the blue one at the bottom of the attached screenshot), then clicked the background color swatch in the design sidebar. In the color picker, I changed the hex value to #cccccc, then changed the opacity (a) to 0 and back to 1 again. But the color of the row never changes ... still stays blue. I've tried every iteration to get it change to gray ... but no luck.

Any suggestions?

BTW, what is the second color box in the upper-right?

Have you checked the column to see if it has a blue background applied? If it does then that would be your issue. Remember It is Grid > Row > Column > Element. So Elements sit on top of the columns, the columns sit on top of the row, and rows sit on top of the grid.

If this is not the case, attach your project file. :)

That's the color that was previously applied so you can see the difference.
The future of web layout has arrived and it's called CSS Grid. CoffeeCup helps you to get ready with a free guide, the Grid Builder app plus cool demos & themes.

I have a background photo with text on top.

I wanted to set a transparent layer between the text and background so the text would stand out more.

I have experimented with changing the row, column and text backgrounds, but every time I change the 'Opacity' it fades the letters too!

How can I stop that? I want the colors on the letters to stay solid.
