Just tried it again, the export location folder is NEW FOLDER on my desktop. Inside was the rsd file and the exported folder called 2015_resp_iipsite_exported. I went back to RSD, made a couple of changes. Exported again to NEW FOLDER and got the message (as I have previously) that files would be overwritten if I continue, I click OK and a new 2015_resp_iipsite_exported folder appears inside my original 2015_resp_iipsite_exported folder. I cleared my cache and cookies. Any ideas?

Whenever you export for the first time you will not receive the message. However, when you export anytime after that into the same folder you will always receive that message. You would need to create a New Folder within the folder on your desktop to stop that from happening.

The message isn't the problem Adam. When I export again after changes are made, I choose the New Folder export location and instead of updating he files in the original export folder within NEW FOLDER, it creates a new folder inside the original export folder.

Are you renaming the file each time?

:):):) I figured it out! I had added the exported site folder to resources. Once I removed it, each time I export to the location folder, no duplicate folder is created in the original exported folder.:):):)

How did Donna fix the browser PREVIEW AND EXPORT problem? The first few days browser preview & export worked fine, since Tues morning it's not working at all. I get 3 different preview versions in FF, IE & Opera, ALL earlier than the most recent saved version. Worse yet, when I EXPORT the newly saved version and view the html file it's an early version with none of the changes I've made! (my exported folder structure is fine, all my files are separate identifiable by name and date)
How was the problem corrected?

Please forgive me if the matters below are already known and have already been tried.

A. Browsers very often store pages that have been viewed, and, instead of showing the page one thinks they should be showing, they shows the stored version instead. This speeds up browsing for those with slow internet connections, but certainly caused me a similar difficulty regarding one web page I made. Using the browser's facility to reload the current page did the trick.

In Firefox there is a button between the address bar and the search bar that will reload the page, and similar buttons in most browsers. For some browsers in Windows, pressing on the keypad Ctrl+F5 will do the trick. This is what was mentioned in the second post in this thread.

B. Another problem had apparently been an unusual accident in the RSD Resources box whereby a previous export of the project had been placed there. The effect was that it was the previous export that was being looked at instead of the latest version. In RSD, clicking on the Resources button will open the Resources box, and, if a similar accident has happened, one should be able to find the offending folder, select it, and use the Remove Folder button (and then ensure full removal as at C below).

C. The above are, I believe, the solutions that were offered in this thread. There is one other thing that has sometimes caused me a similar problem. Exporting from RSD overwrites in the export folder only those files which were already there with the same name. It doesn't delete other files in the export folder, even though one may have removed them in RSD e.g. from the Resources box. This can cause problems, but is, of course, easily cured by deleting all the previously exported files before making a new export.

It is, of course, worth remembering that not all browsers will display a page in exactly the same way as other browsers. That is why RSD has the facility for previewing in more than one browser.

Thanks for responding. The info regarding the Export Folder is very good to know. I'll be restructuring my file folders more logically now that I've used RSD for a few days. Just checked & my exports are good. I also realized today that I can add an entire folder into Resources, so that's another change I'll make to my RSD file structure, a pre-project folder for images, snippets, etc..
The refresh browser buttons don't help BUT I see when I restarted RSD just now that the app preview IS WORKING and so are the 3 browser previews, except that IE doesn't like my font choice & replaced it with one of theirs'. That makes me think that something is going on when the app loads. Last time I exited was more than an hour so maybe it needs to take a break between sessions!
