I'm sorry to ask such simple questions, but how do you add a browser to the "Preview on" option. In my SD It shows default browser, firefox and explorer. I'd like to be able to add chrome and edge to the list.

I think it detects all the browsers you have installed and lists them. It then uses your default as the default. If you click the down arrow next to the preview button you can select a different browser.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Well we have a problem then, it's not picking up my other browsers. It correctly selects the default browser and firefox and ie. Interesting side note, in windows settings choosing a default browser, it shows all of my available browsers.

That's odd. I've never seen an option to add browsers to my preview list but it shows all of the ones I have installed. I wonder if you set one of the others that's not showing in your list as a default through windows if it will then show for you?

Yes that's odd too
The old Microsoft edge won't show unless set as default on pc but the new Microsoft edge ones show once they are installed on the pc. All of the browser I use show ok when I open preview on.

Hi Eric,

You had a good idea which I've tried. If I select a browser not on the list as the default windows browser, SD will open with it. It does not make it show as an option afterwords. I installed a new browser on my machine and I did not set it as a windows default and SD did not see it. I changed that browser as a windows default and SD still did not see it. Set the browser to windows default and sd of course fires the new browser when you select the default browser.

I have a myriad of computers here, and I have tested the same procedures over windows 7,8, and 10 all having the same problem. I tried another version of SD(v2979) and it behaves the same. Here's where things start to get really strange. A PC running the latest version of windows and the identical SD code base display differently than a laptop. The PC shows three out of six browsers and the laptop only display two of the available six browsers.

But wait, there's more! This behavior is same across all of the CC responsive products. SD, FD, and RCS display the same way on each computer. I even did a fresh install of RCS to no avail. So this problem goes much farther back than originally thought.

I'll stop here because I've spent enought tome on this. It's clear by changing the windows default browser and then selecting the "Preview On"'s selection of "default" will work.

Thanks for the help guys.

No one else has noticed for more than five years!!! As steep as my learning curve, I'd rather ask bigger questions of them. I don't want to wear out my welcome.

I, like Wayan, have never experienced the problem. SD4 and its predecessors have always picked up all my (non-Edge) installed browsers, including less well-known ones like Midori (now discontinued).

I'm wondering whether perhaps there may be some software (e.g. anti-malware), Windows setting, or network arrangement used by all Bosco's computers which is causing this non-standard behaviour. The reason nobody else has mentioned this behaviour may be that nobody else has experienced it. If others have experienced it, perhaps they will now mention it here.

I have all my browsers (except Edge) showing as alternatives on my laptop. I have Ffx, Chrome and Opera installed beside the ones built into Win 10. I cannot answer for my desktop right now, but in a week's time I will have got back to Norway and can check.
Ha en riktig god dag!
