Well I decided I needed to get into the 21st century when it comes to web design. I have always been a believer in writing my own HTML, but I can see that I need to get up to the latest. I did download the trial version of the Bootstrap, but withthe $50 off on the RSD I decided to simply buy it. I will start learning (or at least give it the old college try) it in the next day or so, so I am sure I will be asking questions.

Perhaps one of your first decision needs to be bootstrap or foundation. Plenty of help for both and a personal preference choice.
I decided foundation thanks to the active support of people on the forum with Inger and Wayan very supportive.

I'm sure in buying RSD you have made a good decision.

Congratulations, Jack!

Having been a manual coder for about 20 years, it took me some time to change to more or less visual. To begin with I felt I would lose control over what I was doing, like "how on earth can I accomplish this when I have no control over the code?"
When responsive webdesign became necessary, I first didn't use any framework, just media queries. Then I discovered Bootstrap and used it in the HTML Editor for a couple of years. When I finally got into the responsive apps here at CC, I was all for mobile first, so I used RLM for a bit and then continued in the Editor. As RFF was developed before RBB and RSD 2, I tested it and liked it. I'm a little behind using RBB, I still do Bootstrap projects manually.

To me it seems that at the time being Foundation has more options than Bootstrap. Bootstrap sites tend to be looking similar, you can kind of spot that they are Bootstrap sites. I think, though, with the programme components developed by CC and others here, we should be able to make BS sites look as different as any other sites.

So my recommendation would be to start with Foundation, because there are more options and components available, both here by CC and also at Zurb. - Unless you know the ins and outs of Bootstrap, that is.

Congrats Jack. You won't be disappointed. RSD has revolutionised my web design skills. I use it professionally.

Thanks for the replies. I am wondering if maybe I should have gone with the Bootstrap Builder first. I downloaded the 21 day trial version and looked it over a little, but when CC offered the $50 off, I decided to go with RSD, as I thought it would be more advanced then the BB. Looking over the two table of contents they seem a about the same.

With RSD you get the best of both worlds Jack. When you start a new project from theme select Blank then you will be provided a choice of which framework to work with. Select Bootstrap (2 versions) or Foundation... You won't regret your purchase

Congrats, Jack. I think RSD was a good choice as you have the flexibility of using either BB or FF. Also, if anyone has a file from either of those two apps you'll be able to open them up and use them in RSD. It's nice to have the choice between the two different frameworks in one application.

Hi and great choice! RSD was the best way to go. Having is the same as having both Foundation Framer and Bootstrap Builder. When you start a project, you can choose either framework.
