HTML elements appear ON TOP of fixed...

I have been working with RSD for a while having built out several websites. But this is the first time my new client has asked for a fixed menu, so it stays visible at the top of the page.

So I set the positioning of the row holding the menu (which was created with Menu Builder) to "fixed". Directly below the menu I have a WOW Slider in an HTML element and further down the page I have a YouTube video in an HTML element.

Almost everything works, but there are two HUGE issues I can't figure out, here is the website: http://65.60.26.206/~livewell/

1. Both the WOW slider and the YouTube video appear on TOP of the fixed row instead of scrolling BEHIND the fixed row. Everything else, text, pictures, etc. scroll behind the fixed row menu, as they should, but HTML elements have a different behavior.

2. In RSD itself the rows below the fixed row disappear BEHIND the fixed row so you can see them. In order to see them (to edit) you have to "unfix" the menu row, then they pop down again. This can also be seen in the above link as when you first load the page, the slideshow that should start below the menu is on top of it, starting at the top of the page. I can probably fix this with a lot of top padding in that row, but why should I have to do that?

Here is a link to the RSD 2.1 project file: http://65.60.26.206/~livewell/templates/livewelldfw.rsd

Any insight into these two issues would be most helpful as this project has now ground to a halt until I can figure this out.

Thanks!

Bruce

Hi Bruce

First you need to set the Z index for the top (fixed row) to something like 1000 (so that ensures it sits on top of everything else

Then adjust the column sitting in the next row (the one with the html element ) top margin until the text "Chiropractic Care Hurst, TX | Functional Nutrition Fort Worth | Holistic Health and Wellness Care Keller, TX | Allergy Testing Southlake, TX" and sits just below the fixed row, (then you wont need keep un-fixing the fixed row for editing so to speak. (or make sure you don't need edit anything in that column anymore and leave it as it is :D)

Hope that is understandable

Bruce,

There are a number of ways to accomplish what you are looking to do. You could just change the position field to RELATIVE which will allow you to change the Z-INDEX field for you HTML elements to a negative number for the items you want to pass BEHIND the menu, or you could put the offending items in containers (or sub-grid columns) and make the containers z-index negative. The mentioned fields can be found in the position items list.

Once you accomplish the impossible, then you can move on to the hard stuff!
