Just managed to have a quick glance whilst in the pit stop for a coffee,, oh boy the menu is going to cause you all sorts of problems the way it is laid out at the moment, Just changing it to horizontal at higher breakpoints isn't going to do it, it is far too wide until you get to almost large screen sizes, which means viewers are going to see a scroll bar

I've been playing with it too, and I've come to the same conclusion. How about changing it to an off-canvas menu, displaying vertically all the way?

Would it be perhaps heretical to wonder whether drop-downs, slide-ons etc. could simply be replaced by something like a sitemap page*? There are so many links to cope with that a responsive page of organised links might not only be easier to prepare, but also easier for the user. It would mean that the home page would have introductory matter and a bold button leading to the sitemap page.

Perhaps such an heretical notion derives from my preference for utility over prettiness.

Frank

*PS. or a series of such pages.

I'm home already. I'm inclined to agree with Frank a page dedicated to links would be much better
Although Ingers suggestion for an off canvas to the side would look pretty cool too & it would sort of retain that menu look & style many users prefer

Alter Eagle has one on his site as a step-by-step instruction (or download) it is made with RSD but
I have used it in sdv3 and it goes in like a breeze.
I would suggest though if that option is used all styling & extra dropdowns be done first in RSD As I believe that would be much easier to do than do it once in SDv3. Then just take it into SDv3 as a component.

I have one already adapted to SDv3 here: http://www.horgenhonning.net/sharing/sd … ml#no-link . The menu is on the left side, but otherwise it's basdically the same.

After a bit of tinkering, I think I have it working a little closer to what is wanted until I can rebuild things again.

How do I set the z-index higher so that the menu drops above the picture?

select the container "main-menu'
go to layout
go to position
change the position to "relative'
open z-index
select No Units
maybe 500px will do it

I have one also on the way, so you can take a look later too (it's not off canvas, but it fits better, and the hamburger menu thingy stays on until high breakpoints
