this is the site i love i saw here a couple of days ago: http://www.amalia-apartments.com/

the responsive web design is still a mental block for me -- top question for me is: does every page start with a container? then I think: Is a container the same kind of thing a table was in the day.... do i have an over all container for everything on my page and do i fix that in place or do the elements float in some mysterious but stable way.... on a row of elements, as the row decreases in size, the elements fall down from the right side of the row to be the first thing on the left side of the new ''row'' it creates when it goes to mobile size....

i feel like i am 31 thoughts away from figuring this out....

anyway I love that http://www.amalia-apartments.com/ -- I googled it - its somewhere in south america!!!

I found these two articles extremely helpful when I first started with RSD:
http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/grids-for-bullet-proof-responsive-design/

and

http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/responsive-layout-maker-quick-start-guide/

Hope they help.

Best regards,

Thank you John, I just searched some key words on settings and found this link: http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/ … -settings/

Admin moved me over to the correct forum, ya gotta love coffee cup. In the meantime some guy called me here at my home to complain about coffee cup moving him off the forum and i just couldn't get down on coffee cup. and in my usual pristine and totally diplomatic way of exhausting every way i could communicate successfully with him, after an hour, i said good bye curtly before i got angry. i'm beginning to realize i have issues with things not going my way.

Thankfully, in addition, I had saved the original theme to the website name i'm working on now -- such pounding of the head I go thru... but today I found the ''edit text'' button and it was marvelous to be able to write just the right amount of copy in the space provided and see the design make sense.... and best of all see the way the page breaks naturally.

i will preference the modular settings since my mind seems to put every page into five folders filed under the page name. I'm just too darn fussy. This template is helping me see how to manage that.

John, I'm checking out the first link which is new, and the guide, which is a lot...and i looked over other forum questions you asked -- interesting stuff -- i love this nutty internet -- i'm going to learn the 31 thoughts that keep me from getting on with designing these responsive web sites i really love.... i always thought facebook was a bit of a miracle in coding -- way beyond the beyond of my understanding --- all at once, for millions, images, links, videos, in place, viewable on all devices, across all browsers.... and still, folks complain!

I'm still happy the coffee cup crew put me in the right forum! thanks.
