Appointment booking component - Post...
I have a barbershop that needs a website that allows customers to book appointments. I've done this in Joomla but never in a fresh site designer created website. Can anyone point met to a good appointment booking component that I could place in a site I create with site designer?
Hi jimcapraro,
This type of feature requires custom scripts for the backend and a good amount of specialized layout for the front end. What scripts were you using in your Joomla site?

Eric,
Joomla has an extremely robust ability to extend its performance by adding extensions. There is a pretty large volume of pre-programmed booking extensions that you can just plug in. I've put a link below to the appointment booking search findings at http://extensions.joomla.org. I was wondering if there was such a stand alone solution available for purchase to plug into a site created in site designer.

I have used phpjabbers on a lot of different sites and really like their scripts.
I have also been using some widgets from elfsight.com which look very good and are extremely easy to install.
Hope you find what you need.

a little pricy I think. Looks interesting though. Do any of you use this?

It does cost a bit but you can use the widgets on as many websites as you want and as many widgets as you want. The only real limit is the number of times the page loads with the widget. I tried the 5000 for a month but had to upgrade because a few of my sites went past the 5000 limit. Anyway, just thought I would throw it out there as it is super simple to use. I have no affiliation with them at all.
