Scott, the queries from papasan and steve jay are very vaild. Off-line payments should be a standard option in this sware. I have received 2 requests to build websites to sell real-estate. One from Canada and one from Maroq. Both clients will not accept Ppal or Google checkout but bank-transfers to notaries e.g., please also take into account that certain clients in 3rd world countries are not up to par with e-payments. Until the global economy abolishes that good old - in god we trust - it is still a standard way of payment. Btw when beaming over to Holland - look me up...lots to c lots to do. Garf.

I needed an "offline option" too.
In the description of the item(s) I added a link to a PDF order form that the customer can print and mail to me.
I've had a couple orders come in this way, so I know it works (for me at least)

I must say that when this thread started I was, at best, luke warm on it. I coudn't see any real need for it so I stayed out of it. My wife has informed me that this is indeed an option that would be very benificial.

She runs a brick and mortar store but also sells a lot of things on eBay. This is one of the main reasons I've been waiting for SCC to come out with a version that will work for me.

At least once a month or so she gets a message/request from a prospective buyer asking if they buy the <whatever it is> can they then pay for it minus the shipping and instead drop by the store and pick it up. Or not pay at all and pay for it when they come in to get it.

This works fine for eBay as they can sell the item and not worry about payment, but running the sales ourselves will necessitate being able to allow a person to buy something and either exclude shipping or defer payment and allow them to pay at time of pick up.

From what I've read there are others in a similar type of situation, I just didn't realize that I was one of them, or I guess I should say one of us..

Great idea -

I have lots of customers who make orders online, and pick up and pay at my store.

The option to pay offline by cheque, postal order or whatever would be great. A lot of my customers prefer to send me a cheque and then I post out their goods. For stock management reasons, the obvious place would be in the shopping cart checkout, i.e pay by card button, or click to print page to send remittance.

Hello Scott

In our purchase club, we don’t use credit cards, we would like to get a email with name of the club member, and of course the quantity of goods the member orders.

So we will look on your version again.. soon, to see if you have included this “simple” submit function.

Kind regards

This is actually not a bad idea. I think CC should seriously consider adding this option!

In the meantime.....could you not add a CC Form to the HTML either in the program files or an Iframe parent page if the cart is in an iframe.

I know I already posted this in the wish list area also, but I am in total agreement that an option like this would be very benificial. No security required, just some form of promise to pay (by check, at pickup, COD, PO).

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
