I want to make a donations page where the donor can donate from $1.00 up to any amount. Can I do this? I want the donor to be able to put in any amount to donate.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Sure, just put a PayPal donation button form on a donation page.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
No.I mean I want to use shopping cart creator to do this, not just pay pal button.
I don't think the program has a built-in donation function but you can make a page within the shopping cart and place a PayPal donation button for this purpose if you'd like.

That's a different take on the cart, do you have a shop setup also? If so then you could probably do this by adding a category called Donate to Us or Donations or whatever and then add the Donation info as if they were products. That's about the only way I can think of unless you add the PayPal buttons within the Shopping Cart pages, that would work also.

It's unlikely that a generic shipping cart software would allow users to enter a defined amount, due to the security implications of that system getting compromised in other shops. Hackers would have a real blast with such a loophole.

The cart uses paypal differently. If you just set up a normal web page, then place a paypal donate button on it, the person donating will be given a blank slip at checkout where they fill in the amount. In the cart module, it is set up to interact with the cart price. So unless you used the cart and had pre determined amounts you really should set up just a normal webpage.

I was assuming he wanted to use the cart to sell items and also have the ability to accept donations, as well. A simple PP donation button from within a SC page will work fine in this scenario.

yep I was assuming the same as Tom,
If you setup the cart system without worrying about customer/donator input then it will be fine, you can just setup preset donation amounts with a nice picture for the donation and set it up like a product. No as WILL says, you cannot do donator specified amounts that way, but then again as Tom has re-mentioned, you can use a PayPal button on the site or in the cart to accomodate this too.

you could do a select box with the amounts, then when one of the amounts is selected, it would load the button with that amount.
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
