Shopping Cart on S Drive? - Post ID...

At the moment, I have a working shop on another server that I built using Shopping Cart Creator/Designer. To be honest, very little of what I sell is actually sold online (glass is both heavy and delicate to post) and I do most of my sales in person at fetes and fairs. I know that it is not responsive but is there any reason why I cannot upload that shop to my S drive and link to it from my website? I have not (and, believe me I have looked), found anything that works as well as SCCP without my having to build a shop that will be inferior to the one I have already built and pay for hosting on yet another platform. I own a number of domains already, so with and some without hosting. I honestly do not need another one.

well there maybe one more option

take your shopping cart & export it (so you have the html & all associated files

then you place the exported file into your site designer resources (root) then a link on your pages to the exported file (./name-of-expotrd-file/index.html

It should work ok,, as an alternative to uploading to Sdrive as a separate item (although there should also be no reason that way wouldn't work either

Sheila, do you know if the shop, when exported, contains any PHP files. If it does, it may be difficult to upload it to your regular S-drive domain. I have never used the shopping cart software, so I wouldn't know if it has PHP files or not. But there is a special service within S-drive to which you can upload shops. You need to get a reply from someone who has done this, or simply contact CC support.

I wonder, however, if this way would preserve the great inventory tracker and other features of the display. However, I may give this a try. Thanks

Thanks. I will check this. If it comes down to it being a great problem, I could always leave it on one of my other websites and just do a link to it via the menu. Thanks.

Thanks. I think that I may have to sign up for a more expensive web hosting package to be able to do this. It is something that I may consider when my hosting on Coffee Cup comes up for renewal. In the short term, it may be easier to leave it where it is but create a link to and from it.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
