I have tried to widen the links in my left vertical navigation bar on the main body page,it won't do it,they wont go past the red box that surrounds the links.
I can make the links smaller to fit all the words in but they get hard to read, any ideas? I'm using creator pro.
Also when i have publised my files to the desk top do i just upload all the files to the root directory including the php files?:/

David,
I have had the same question about the width of the nav bar. No luck and not sure why I cannot get the bar any wider.
Here is the final answer from CC support regarding the issue.

Hello Jim,

Unfortunately, you cannot change the width of that side navigation bar. The Shopping Cart Designer will not allow you to change the overall setup. It will only allow you to change the design content but not the layout.

Please let us know if you have any further questions

The nav bar as in the length of the full and entire bar is not changable, but the locations and looks and width etc. of each area for each bar is most definitely changable. If you see my shop it has separate buttons in it spaced exactly right. It doesn't start out that way and if you're trying to use a graphic you'll need to set it to repeat in the direction you want it in and then go to the last tab of the settings to manipulate it. There are also manipulation settings on the first tab of the settings for each separate individual section of the menu which might also be needed. This all has to be done in Shopping Cart Designer, and I don't know if it's only a Pro version thing or not as I haven't used the Basic version.

Have some screen shots or a link to your site with the menu issue Beach? If so I can try to help you figure out how to do what you're after. I'm sure there's a way as long as it's not some huge graphic you're trying to use :)

Actually, the sidebar can be made wider but not with ease. It requires editing the appropriate style properties within the syler.css file. Hopefully a future release of SCD will allow for greater control over every aspect of a site's design, including rearranging the layout.

The issue was the LEFT VERTICAL navigation bar...yours is horizontal. Not the same issue

BP... thanks... I'll try again. I'm certain I had asked the support crew in "get support pages" if I could make a change to the to the style sheet and the answer was no.

Nw I just have to to remember how I kept my header centered in the previous shop...that was solved with a change to the style sheet...just need to make the time to re-do the cart again.

I believe there may be an updated version (not sure of specifics) that will be released about the same time as the new SCC PRO.

I am not entirely clear on your questions, but let me try: you don't have to wait until the pro version because the regular version allows you to edit those regions of your cart. The cart comes with payment options as well in order to perform online transactions.

There are two style classes that need to be adjusted in the styler.css file. I used the Firebug extension for Firefox to find the styles that control the sidebar and content area. I believe I started with the Classical Jazz template. Anyway, the two classes that need to be changed are as follows:

.scs_navbar_adjustable (on line 42 of styler.css; yours may be elsewhere.)
.scs_navbar_adjustable_opposite (on line 43 of styler.css; yours may be elsewhere.)

Hope this helps.

By the way, here's my site where I applied the css changes: http://www.walmartatlas.com/store/. The left sidebar is set to 20%, the content area is 80%

[Edit] Keep in mind, too, that changes to the css file need to be added when you've finished and exported the template. If you continue to edit your template within SCD, your changes will be overwritten when you export the template.
