I have tried to widen the links in my left vertical navigation bar on the main body page,it won't do it,they wont go past the red box that surrounds the links.
I can make the links smaller to fit all the words in but they get hard to read, any ideas? I'm using creator pro.
Also when i have publised my files to the desk top do i just upload all the files to the root directory including the php files?:/

Creator Pro? or Designer Pro.

Creator Pro is still in Beta as far as I know.

When you upload, you CAN put the files in your root directory, but I think most people are creating a folder "/shop" for example and placing them in there. Then from your homepage link to /shop/index.php

Hi David
Can post the link to your shop.
Are you using one of the supplied themes if so which one.
It will give us a better idea of your problem.
I presume you mean you are using SCD (Designer) PRO

Hiya David,

I'm wondering why you are publishing to your desktop and then uploading instead of publishing to your server directly through the program? It's setup very nicely to do that publishing for you.

As for the Links situation, it could be that you're trying to resize the wrong part of the Navigation area, or that you may need to resize another area to accommodate making the navigation area larger. There could be a number of different combinations of changes that might fix this.

A link would definitely be helpful in determining which area needs adjusting :)

Thank you for your replies,
yes iam using designer pro, just bought designer pro and shopping cart v3.7 four days ago and am trying to build my first online shop, I have built a website for a customer selling swimming pools and spas in Australia and he wants me to build a shopping cart site selling pool equipment and he wants me to keep the same theme for his new site, not sure if i can do that as the shopping cart designer pro does not support flash animations,it is going to make it hard to fullfill his wishes.
In particular he wants the same type of navigation buttons in his shop. I have put some buttons in his shop but i can't make them wide like they are in his current website http://www.swimmingpoolkitsdirect.com i have an attachment to show some detail hope it helps.
Question to Jo Anne.
Hi Jo, i published the jeneric files to my desktop to see what files were generated by the programe and was hoping to see some html pages :( but there wern't any, was hoping to be able to edit some pages and insert some flash animations but its all php!! i guess i will have to make some html pages and have a link to the shop... Does anyone have any sugestions!!. And i would love to be able to use the left side of the background for promos and stuff,is that possible also.
Regards Dave.

Dave - I believe the main page from SCC will be 'index.php'. As far as editing the php files, in general yes you can edit them. Can you insert flash to a php file/page? I'm not sure, I believe you could, but I'm not experienced enough with php to answer properly. Hopefully someone with more php experience will read this thread and assist with that one. Or you could just try it, make sure to make a backup prior to editing.

David,
I have had the same question about the width of the nav bar. No luck and not sure why I cannot get the bar any wider.
Here is the final answer from CC support regarding the issue.

Hello Jim,

Unfortunately, you cannot change the width of that side navigation bar. The Shopping Cart Designer will not allow you to change the overall setup. It will only allow you to change the design content but not the layout.
