Thanks for the speedy advise. Though it would be a good feature to add the viewing capability to a later rev. considering I was not the only one that assumed it would be built in already.

You know what they say about "Assume" :) I know i have been caught into that net a few times. We need to really read what we are buying and download the trial version before we commit money to it.

You will not be disappointed in this software.

I already had been using your HTML editor and liked it so I figured(a little better than assumed :) ) I could not go wrong. Its not really about the money it is more about the disappointment. There just doesn't seem like there is ever the right software out there that performs exceptionally well. I have downloaded many?

This is to Jo Ann. Since your reason why I even replied to this post given that you stated quote
If you're trying to view the image in the software, then that is the issue here as the images do not show in the software other than the basic placeholders for them. I believe it's slotted to have this added unquote.
Will a corrected version be released in the future or did you assume the same as the general public did. :/

Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think you're still misunderstanding the deal with the images. It's not that you can give an image to a row and have it show, it's that you can add the image "links" in the program and if you give the correct location path in the program as to where it will be on your server, AND if you have the images in the same location on your local drive ... then it will show the images automatically when you export the pages.

Now I haven't loaded the program up recently as I've been getting ready to move and prepping 2 houses to rent so I've been very busy outside of the computer, but they "may" have added the ability to see the images in the program, but I don't know if that was added or planned so hopefully someone else will tell us.

Hope that makes sense :)

You know what they say about the word "Assume" Daniel... ;)

I cannot say if we will show live images in the preview of RLM but this is a feature located in RSD. You just need to always keep in mind what RLM is to be used for. Above all else though, read the documentation fully. We spent a lot of time and resources on that. ;)

I did read the documentation and also to your post on May 2nd to Karen. This led me to believe it was possible. No assumptions about it. Either that it is extremely misleading.

The article http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/ … out-maker/ reads:

"We highly recommend you use this option over the other as it allows you to pre-add your image paths directly within Responsive Layout Maker. Adding the Export Path of an image can be accomplished in two ways. First you need to double click the image that you are going to edit. This brings up the Properties tab of that image on the right-hand side. Here you will find the Export Path option that allows you to enter in a URL or relative path to your image which are explained below."

Export path is just that a path to the image that will be viewable after export. I can place a warning message below this paragraph that states, IMAGES WILL NOT BE VIEWABLE IN RLM EXPORT PATH REFERS TO THE PATH OF THE IMAGE AFTER EXPORT. If that would help the situation.

As Scott has said we are not sure if this feature will be added to RLM as it is a feature that will be found in RSD.

We do take the comments and suggestions of our users and discuss them, but at this time it is not possible and would be something added to a MUCH later version of the software. You never know though, it may be sooner than you think. :P

Your right. I guess I was mainly concentrating on the post itself stating that there was a way for your images to appear in your layout instead of the built-in ones.
With Responsive Layout Maker you build the structure of your website in RLM and then export to any code editor to add your final content (images, sliders, menus etc). However, there is a handy feature within RLM that allows you to link to custom images allowing them to appear within your layout. This is very useful if you want to build a layout with your images instead of the filler graphics RLM uses.

We have put together instructions here at
http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/ … yout-maker on how you can add these images to your layout.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
