To kick off your week, we’ve got you yet another sweet update of RLM. In this version, we smoothed out the export process, making layout design iterations for exported site designs a whole lot easier.

Preserving added stylesheets and custom images upon re-export used to be a little bit of a process, but not anymore! No more need to move stuff around; files and folders added to the exported project will remain untouched. Links to the styles and images can be added directly in the app, before the next iterative export.

In short, keep tweaking that layout and re-export to your hearts desire, your design styles and image content will be immediately applied. It’s working wonders, give it a shot! In case you need some guidance here, our pal Adam drafted up a nice article showing how to go from a custom responsive layout design, to a full site design in just a few easy steps. You should check it out.

Looking at the feedback and posted projects many of you are getting into the responsive groove by now. If you are one of the early-invitee-owners, you can go here for your latest and greatest.

Yes if I understand this right we dont have to worry about it over-writing our content any more.

Bob will this still work if we modify breakpoints or change the layout?

This does however give you the power to add in the links and scripts to the head of your page which saved a lot of time. :)

It also has the ability to set the path of your images. So the images are already in your folder and you set the path in RLM and export and your images show up without you having to do anything! :)

Yes

But if you change a class name or ID that you are using in your own stylesheet, that rule will stop to apply. I guess that's obvious though ;) Also keep the purpose and context of RLM in mind. The focus is on prototyping complex and custom responsive sites. Other prototyping tools then tell you to hand-code whatever you designed. The clean coded, production ready, site framework RLM outputs is a strong additional feature but this means that HTML added outside of RLM can't be preserved. I am not saying it will stay that way, we have a long road ahead of us, but for now that's the way it will work.

This update helps a lot! I noticed the items I put in the head section are not saved inside RLM after export. I think these should be saved.

Is that with the latest version (build 2520 - you can check this in the about screen)? Everything entered in the head section should be saved using 2520 or later.
