Today I started my first exercises and by now I can setup a basic layout. For the main naviagion I use button links. I can change the size and color, but in the properties tab I cann't influence the background-color. Adjusting the main.css file didn't help.
The perfection isn't reached in one pass.

I've played around with the RLM but not as much I would like. I think, I could be wrong so I'm going to have affirm my conclusion as I haven't seen anywhere in the quick guide but I think there is problem with saving colours when you open it up in the editor, so if that's something what you mean, yeah I've found that, but I've only done it once and didn't work, so I will have to verify.

Hi there Hans,
From my experience so far with RLM you cannot change the background color of an element you can only change the background color of a row or column. Please remember that these elements are only place holders. Once you have set up the layout you export it and edit the element placeholders with an html editor. RLM is not a site designer it is only a framework/layout maker.
If anyone else knows something different please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah it is skeleton of the main site, but you would think the colours would be part of that - I don't know. Anyway this is what I'm getting in the first pic is RLM obviously, the second one is how it translates onto a web page, do you think that's right Steve, without colour??

Thanks guys for helping.
In the meantime I found the possibility of changing the background-color of a div, but as you saw above I also like to change the buttons also. Before I got RLM I did a quick survey regarding Foundation and Boilerplate and as I recall from some tuts on Youtube the buttons with names (classes) of "alert", "succes", "error" and so on were adjustable. I assumed in one of css-files. But so far I haven't found the spot yet.

I know how to change the colours of stuff as the screenshot shows, but when it's saved and exported it doesn't show the colours, I don't know if it's supposed to or not. Not a great deal as it's easy to code it in the editor, but it's curious.

Which framework are you using?
Do not look at the design it is not for that purpose, but this shows some of the prebuilt styles in Coffeegrinder. (You have to view the source to see the classes). http://coffeecup-test.coffeecup.com/lay … index.html
You can find BootStrap classes here http://getbootstrap.com/2.3.2/base-css.html
If you take a look at the Milky Way theme there are BootStrap classes used in RLM itself.
This program is for mockup use only guys, is isn't like visual designer. It's focus is to build on the framework for a responsive website..
However you will be happy to hear, I think CC has something in the works that answers all that you are looking for..
I'm just not positive.

@ Adam:
I was working in Coffeegrinder DDE.
Directing my attention to the Milky Way theme was good advice. I learned to use text-links to create a navigation bar. I found the classes involved and could adjust them in the main.css file.
I also found in Bootstrap 2 the classes which color the buttons. But here I didn't succeed in altering them. For me it is a bit confusing which of the css files I can use to override the basics.
@ UncleMap & Adam:
In general I know what you are saying. By now I switched my mindset. Building a "skeleton" of framework is OK with me, but at the end of the day I want to establish a responsive website according to my mock-up in Photoshop. I want my design transformed in this framework and later on have it adjusted to my colorscheme.
What I mostly need at this time is a set of how-to's. The Quick Guide is not so clear as I wish at this point.

Yeah I know the program is like a skeleton if you like, I haven't got a clue about Visual Designer, never even downloaded it. I actually think it's quite an easy program to use RLM, as your doing it if you know what I mean. When you've got it there in front of you and your changing stuff that part I'm finding quite easy, what my difficulty is at this point, is that it's not saving stuff how I'd like. So for eg I'm having to export every time I make a change, I've looked at the quick guide and can't find anything on there about it. I've been able to make some web pages quite successfully so that's not a problem, but I just finding time hard to get at present. My wife's family are staying so haven't had the time to put it through it's paces, I'm sure all things are my fault, but I can only use it 10 mins here and there As for saving colours I'm not too bothered by that, I just style them in the page, so I do how I want, it would be handier for it to just put the colours on the RLM and it saves like that, but it's neither here or there for me.
